Monkey....gone but never forgotten! RIP

Haven't posted on here in a while so thought I would post something so the old crew on here would know I am still alive..... Shocked

Had a 3 day hunt with cajunl and another guy on some water management land. Caught a few hogs, got outrun several times and in general had a good time talking trash about each others dogs... Grin

I haven't hunted but about twice since last Feb. so my dogs are waayyyy out of shape. I had gotten Monkey hurt at my club about 3 weeks ago and he had been crippled up since. First day we hunted my Spur dog covered 21 miles , according to the Garmin, much of that running hogs. Yet he never stopped one or made a bark the whole time.

We did manage to dump some old ugly blue spotted dogs out on top of a boar shoat and they did catch him. So I was hearing all about it that evening....... Grin

Next morning I loaded crippled 8 1/2 year old Monkey in the box. He barked two times that morning, and we put our hands on two hogs....pretty good average for an old wore out dog...... Grin

Had a couple of his pups out and I think one of them is going to turn on if I can get her on hogs. The other one would rather tree people that wander off in the woods, then come back to us in the woods.......... Afro

Third day all we did was RUN hogs. But I didn't have Monkey with me, as he was gimped up that morning.

Will post a couple pics when I get a chance. But as I told cajunl...based on pounds of pork put on the truck this hunt, Fla dogs rule.....spotted dogs drool.....LOL

Use the IMG code, you ever seen the giant oaks they filled with concrete down in Sebring?

Noah, it doesn't give me an option to copy the IMG code like it used to. Only has a couple options to Open Link, Save Link or Copy link address???

Haven't seen the oaks in Sebring but this was a BIG tree. Pic doesn't do it justice.

Photobucket has been a PITA lately... you could fit 5 of those trees in some of the trees in Sebring, they actually poured reinforced concrete into some of them to stabalize them they got so big

Those blue hounds ran over us in the woods. I think Monkey was tired of hearing all that bellering on track and no hog stopped..... Grin
He jumped in with those hounds and had the hog stopped...and caught...within 10 minutes.  Still for the life of me can't figure out why someone would want a dog to just RUN the hogs. I want a dog to STOP the hogs....but I guess thats why they make more than vanilla ice cream..everyone has their own tastes....

What do we need to bring on this end for lunch? Hamburgers...hot dogs....Huh?? I will try and pick up another small grill like the one I had. They are handy.
