Well I enjoyed being around the whole bunch of guys, heard alot of bs and some half truths  Grin. I am sorry Terry and I didn't see to much of the group while hunting, we had some young dogs that we hunted hard and they done good.  Terry and I took my boss who was a first timer and he had a ball.

Then everyday we ate lunch together and Josh brought this BIG boy up and said his scales had him at 195.

This is a pic of the last night there

Noah I still would like to see your dogs work .

Miss Lisa, I would like to see yours as well!   I was SO pleasantly suprised by the respectful hunters given the public hunt.  Was probably one of the best draw hunts I've ever been a part of.

Somethin' about your boss I would have liked to talk to more to.... he sure seemed like my kind of guy

now y'all fellas need to load up an run them flordia dogs in texas one weekend

Nothin' would make me happier  Wink Grin

You'll have plenty of places to stay, chain spots for dogs and lots of land to hunt if you decide to head west some time this year. My family and I don't have the prettiest house, but it's warm and open to friends. (that means your more than welcome to stay in the shed)  Grin lol

Come on with it, You can hunt beautiful east Texas piney woods, grain fields and i even know a fella with a super secret spot on a beach. Let the dogs cast the badlands and you can catch some redfish.

The three day Florida - Texas showdown hog dog hunt was great!  Good folks, good dogs, and just a good old time was had by all.

There were probably 30+- people all total in the group, but all went in separate directions and groups to hunt.  Everyone bayed and/or caught hogs, then converged at the shady oak tree picnic table for a cook out lunch each day and tell the stories of the days hunt and catches.

Mark's Monkey and Spur dogs started out slow the first morning, but turned on quick once we put'em in the right place.  That "Mater" gyp of Chance's is one hog finding machine!  All of Chance's dogs have alot of aggressive hunt and desire and appear to be very heat tolerant as they never slowed down while their feet were on the ground.

Noah's and Lynel's dogs put up some numbers also which was a challenge in the warm mid-day Fla temps and dry conditions.

I did hear some trail barking hear and there, but think those were bluish colored (not yellow) dogs.    :-)

Knowing Noah and having had him on some hunts for bad hogs and then seeing him up a tree was a hoot.  One big old boar spinning around with Noah on his back one cold morning a few years ago comes to mind.

Hunting together with good friends is alot of fun and will always be remembered.  Hopefully there will be a next time.

Dave

Boy y'all guys are to much. I would say we are alittle more than friends its family. Crackerc opened his house to me and my kids. He gave my kids gifts that they will cherish forever and always remember. People its all about the good Times memories. The Florida dogs all did very well. I really liked them all. Noah it was a pleasure to hunt with you the first time. I want to take the time to think easttexashogdoggers for making all this possible.
There is one thing that is missing and that is cutterbay he was removed from this board a while back because he came off the wrong way. But I will say this if anyone on this board and I mean anyone ever gets in a bind in Florida that guy will drop what he is doing and help them. I seen him stop his hunt to make sure Noah got his truck fixed. Cutter helped organize the lunches we had everyday. He helped every with skinning there hogs. We all meet through this site witch has made it possible but to me its not the same with out him. Lisa did a great job on the lunches. Dave beat rowdy to a hog that made my day cause if rowdy would have caught every hog I would have had to rent an 18 wheeler to get his head home.lol Yes my dog did do alittle trespassing but I guess that's why we have had 2 million hogs in Texas since1991 cause them trespassing dogs keep them from over populating. J/k Great hunts and great Times. Oh and you could hear them hound from one side of that place to the other.lol

Great to meet everyone. That is one of the best thing about the quota hunts is you can get together with old friends and meet some new ones.

I got to meet Noah and hunt with his dogs some. We never caught anything huge but laid our hands on some pork. And found a good buck doing in.

I did not get to hunt with Chance much. But I enjoyed visiting with him and all the kids. They are for sure Good People. I hope you get to come back to Florida or make a trip out to Tx to hunt some.

Also got to meet Terry and Lisa and enjoyed visiting and she put out an awesome spread for everyone. It was much appreciated.

Josh, Clint(bird) and I got to steal Rowdy away from the tx. crew for an afternoon hunt. The "Florida spotted crew" got to tie some. Rowdy deserves a big head cause that boy is damn sure handy in the woods. He can tie a hog better than 90% of the grown men I have hunted with!

Good catch Lynel!

Is that a blue speckled yard ornament in the picture with you?Huh?    I can hear it now.     Grin

Be careful in PR.  Don't bring anything home with you.

Man, I missed out.

Things didn't end up working out like I hoped.
I was sick, truck in the shop, figured out last minute my trailer running lights didn't work, so couldn't bring my dog box, got a bubble in my tire on my way up. To top it off my dad smokes cigarettes in his house, and it was bothering me so bad I couldn't sleep at all.

I only hunted that first morning, caught a small sow, while I was dragging that one out my dog magic went to cajuns dogs and I didn't get there till they had the sow dragged out of the swamp. Clint told me I showed up at the right time, cause it was nasty in there, ha.

I had a bigger hog bust out on the road right next to magic, and he stopped him quick, but when I let the catch dog go he got slowed up in the palmettos. The hog broke and some loud blue long eared dogs came out of no where, and my catch dog went to chasing them around. Never got the hog stopped again.

I planned on meeting you all, but it just wasn't a good week for me.

Was a great hunt guys I think everyone caught hogs (as hard as that is to believe as there were spotted dogs there..... Grin) and everyone had a good time. I think Noah made a couple new friends...Cattle was either hanging off Noah or beating on him every time he got close!! At one time Noah was bent down getting something out of his back pack and Cattle was steadily punching him in the back the whole time......good thing Noah has kids...and patience!! LOL

Maybe we can plan another get together next year and make this a regular event!
