How many of yall have had puppies this young get bitten by a rattlesnake and live? i had two of my little pups get bit. i was wondering is there anything i should give them? i know the snake that got em wont do it again cuz i just killed him.

I have had 12 week old pups bit on the head and survive. I had 6 dogs bitten at the house last year, all survived.

olk folks say if a dog gets bite from the heart foward it will live, if it gets biten behind the heart dig a hole...
i think id try that shocking stuff that was posted here and hit them with antiboitics i would go 1 cc combipen 48 everyother day
i had one dog get hit in the head and it swole up like a volley ball all i did was flush both marks with combipen and gave him 3 cc
everyother day for a week and all he ended with was two white scares the size of a dime

Give them dexamethasone and penicil and leav them alone. Once it bust then keep up penicelin and clean cut with any wound spray.

Craig that country out there where Paul lives and hunts is the snakiest place I have ever been to haha. When I was going out there regularly I did the rattle snake vaccine to a few of my dogs. I had a dog get hit in the side of the face while in a concrete kennel that had been given the vaccine and he had some swelling and that was it. The number of big rattlers we killed and saw out there would keep you on your toes all the time....

Right behind my house in my catch trap for my saddle horses, jingeled up horses to go to work at daylight and they were acting funny, I never heard him buzz but I found him anyway, interuped his breakfast I did. I think this was the snake that bit two of my dogs last year.  |

thnx guys. dex i think that sayin is true. only one died and she was bitten under the belly. the others were bitten on the head and they all survived. thnx
