A used high end Hoyt, they make some nice ones.  Really, any old bow will work in my opinion, it's the indian shooting the bow that makes the difference Wink

Where you located Smeb?  On Edit:  I just checked your profile and saw you were from San Antonio.  I am moving there this weekend.  I am from Indiana.  I have an extra Browning bow that you can have to use if you would like.  Let me know if you want it.
On Second Edit:  It does need a new string, but those are relatively inexpensive.  You are more than welcome to it.  I do not need it or use it.  I think the poundage is in the mid 70's not exactly sure.  It could be backed down if you want.

I've had a few, browning rage(from academy) is a good kit bow, its fast and accurate and @300 ready to shoot just needs arrows, and the bear trx series from gander mountain is also a good one for @400 ready just add arrows, thats what I currently use now and I like it....fast, light, and very accurate!

skip all the package bows................alot are junk.

look on texasbowhunter.com or archerytalk.com

ie- I sold my 07 tribute(bowtech) with site, rest, stab , new strings and cables for 350. Bow was 759 new, rest and site was 100 a pop. strings were 130. 1100 worth of stuff 2 years ago for 350. Buy a higend bow, used. When you pay 200-300 for a complete set up, you get a 200-300 dollar bow. Shoot a higher end bow and you will see the difference.

PSE, bowtech (Diamond), and Martin all make bows like what you're looking for.  Just don't let the Martin ads sucker ya in  Cheesy

Try e bay---I have a tomkat by bowtech---older and not a high dollar bow but forgiving and It loves to stick pigs. if you go to bowhuntersfriend they will list speeds costs and forgiveness of the bows. A cool thing about bowtech is on the box it came in they quoted phillipians 4:13, I can do all things through christ who strengthens me! Good luck===shoulda been a warning of the addictiveness of the sport on the box too   !!!!! JC
