Anybody Alligator Hunt?

I am moving to San Antonio this weekend.  I am hoping within the next two years to do an alligator hunt.  Does anybody on here do it?  Or do you know of any guides around San Antonio that do it.  I wouldn't mind driving somewhere to do it either.  I have grown up vacationing in Florida and bass fishing on the lakes there and have always wanted to do a gator hunt but never have.  I figured while I am living in Texas, I might find some folks that did it here and give it a shot.  Let me know if you have any info or advice on it for me.  I appreciate it.

I have caught a few in my time but I never killed one or been on a actual hunt for one, just happen upon them or they got in a pond and the landowner wanted them removed.  I work with a guy who hunts them in the Atchafalya Basin and I think he guides them too.  I will check with him next week and see what he says.

I catch them all the time but just to catch them and get a quick photo, then release em'. My ex- father-in-law went on a hunt though, they paid 75 for the permit and went out fishing for them and once hooked and to the boat shot em' with 22's.. The only bad thing is the way the permit is once a gators on your line he's your trophy, no matter if he's 3 or 16 ft. Kinda would suck if it was a lil one cause you can't turn em loose once hooked.. And I think it has to be guided so you can't cheat!!!

i know of a few people from victoria that hunt em, not guides, but would probably let you go with em if you get your permits. i think they normally go near the aransas wildlife refuge.
