Had a real fun christmas and all that stuff and had some family lined up to hunt but cold weather and general girliness got the better of everyone, so I was left all by my lonesome which is fine by me. Had a cattleman tell me that the hogs had been hitting his rye grass real bad over Christmas so I showed up around 1245 or 1. Just brought two bitches with me because one of them is in heat, the sign was really freaking old ( like several days old ) so they didn't seem real interested. I must have drove off and then reset them on it 3 times before they finally figured out I was gonna be more stubborn than them and I did want them to just cold track it. They got the hint and hunted real deep into the neighboring property and finally heated the track and it wasnt another 5 minutes and they started burning up the garmin! Ive got history with this damn sow and though she may not look like much today, this is an old sow who really eats her wheaties! She decided she was gonna burn off on the dogs and started her same ol route. What she didn't figure on this time was it was daylight and she had my two smartest, fastest bitches on her by themselves. She put them thru the marathon for almost 2 hours, but this time, they had more speed and bottom than she did.  I feel pretty bad about killing this blondey, she was the type of hog that will make people say "screw that pasture, all them hogs do is run!" but the man who owns it said one of his hands wanted to eat her.    |

I like those smart old sows....they can teach the young dogs a lot of things we can't!! Hate to kill them too....
I bought a cushioned seat cover at Wally world for my 4 wheeler. Has straps that buckle under the seat and works good. Helps on the wash board roads too....LOL

That's a cool looking sow ,
Some people get mad at the runners , you just need some dogs that will stay with it I think it will make the dogs alot better at the end of the day if they always catching ones that don't run they gonna get lazy

Well like I figured, get momma out of the picture and the rest of the young ones would be a bit easier. That blonde sow passed more than just her need for speed on to her shoats, she passed along that beautiful color too. I took the same two bitches out today, along with my crummy ol catch dog and the Fat Black Ghetto pit catchdog in training named "precious". The bitches did real well. Ended up with 5 young pigs in no time. Precious killed the first three pigs flat out. She don't know where to catch yet so she grabbed two of them on top of the back and the third under the chest. It sucked but it's hog hunting. The 4th and fifth I didn't use a catchdog for, I was hoping to be able to keep them alive but Salt had other intentions, haha I think the boar out there is gonna be next and I'd be willing to bet he's blonde or red too, they must all be pretty tight related because they were all the same red-blonde color and one of them had himself a retard foot.  This is what color they were  And this is "precious" my fat black girl.  |
