Those barrel latches will come undone on a washboard road.

That looks like it will work to me. Here's the one I built. Total cost about $100. I do have a welder so it helped.

I made it so I could use in truck and wheeler. My truck has side mount tool boxes so I had to make it a lil narrow for wheeler. Holds 4 dogs comfortable.

Looks good! I couldn't house any of my bulldogs or Patts in somethin like that though, they's likely chew through it, lol. I'd imagine some curs or hounds would fare just fine in that though!

I think you did a fine job with using materials you had laying around.

Setexhogdogs. I bet it works like a champ. As u said this is a po boy dog box. U used what u had and it works so job well done. If u wasn't a po boy I bet u like me would have one of those $500 aluminum top storage with fans and all that good stuff.

I wasn't trying to criticize your box, just an observation to save you some grief.

I have built some po-boy boxes too.

Those barrell latches came undone on me and the doors came open on the highway.  I got lucky a couple times, and didn't loose any dogs.
Have fun hunting, and good luck.
