Catchy or not, those are some fine looking, well built dogs. I like how all of the pics I've seen of that family of dogs look like clones.
I hope he loosens up for you, I lost a good hard hunting young gyp a few weeks ago due to being just like what you described.

Thats when you know you got your breeding , line and your cross just right and your line is in the sweet spot not to much of this, not to much of that and noting from the outside !!!!!!! I love to see lines that produce like that. When you can tell were they come from soon as you see them . When I was breeding Nigerino dogs my yard looked like clones and a Sea of Red with black masks. Only other color that came out every now and then was Black . You got them in the Sweet Spot Mike keepem there.
