Garmin DC 30 Solid Red Light

One of my Garmin DC30 collars has a solid red light and the will not connect with the hand held. I have tried to connect to perform update but it will not connect, I have taken the casing apart and unplugged from the battery to attempt to reset, nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions for repairing it other than sending to Garmin? Any help would be appreciated.

That happen to me the other day get on garmin and type it in the search and it will come up in frequent questions and it gives you steps to fix it

Thanks OCD, I already tried that. I can not get the astro 220 to recognize the collar. I have heard that the astro 320 will overcome this but I dont know if it is true.

I had an issue with my garmin reconizing a collar n i took the collar apart n disconnected batt for an hr and put it back together n it i guess reset the collar. After it reconizes the collar, u may b able to utilize the garmin faq n support

i have a 320 and that happen to me and i got it workin again

try to get it to update. I hit the wrong button on my garmin one night and it started to update and download on the collar. I shut the stupid thing off by mistake not knowing what I did. I finally got it to connect and it finished updating and I haven't had any trouble since.

Call Garmin and they will help you fix it!

Just had the same issue - I really think its a low voltage issue, causing the collar to lock up.

I disconnect the battery and clean the terminals with contact cleaner, put dielectric grease on them and start charging the collar, keeping it taken apart ( the board may have to be disconnected from the battery again ) once the light finally goes out, turn on collar, go to initialize collar - it should blink real fast. If not erase collar and try to add it again.

Tried that on 2 collars so far and it seems to have fixed them

HAPPENED TO A BUDDIES DC30, HE GOT MAD AND SMACKED THE HECK OUT OF IT WITH A PAIR OF PLYERS AND WHA-LAW IT STARTING WORKIN PERFECT IMMEDIATELY.
