... well.   Grin   Sorry, still grinnin' ear ta ear from yesterday's hunt!

So my buddy Lee got called up by a property owner in North Florida that was startin' to see a bit of rootin' in his fields, he asked for us ta bring the dogs out and see what we could do...  as we pulled into the property(big pine plantation/briar thickets) I began to grow "suspect" of the actual number of hogs on this place... zero sign... finally got to a small patch of 2week old rootin' on the side of the road... "turn your dogs out here" he says...  Grin  To be polite, Lee cast a couple of his out as I considered how we could "politely" head to the gate and go somewhere's else  Grin

Dogs didn't do anything in the old sign of course, so loaded up and eased across the property.  Came up on the edge of a thicket and saw a bit of nosing in the leaves under a water oak, cast Snapper and Camo out, they trailed in about 250 and heard squealin' in short order.  Made our way in through some bad ass green briars, caught a lil sow... but could smell boar hog REAL strong  Smiley

I eased back to the truck and kicked out Shiner and Whaler to see if they could line the other hog(s) out... they trailed in to where we caught the sow, and began to peel off fast... watched as they came bayed on the Garmin about a mile away  Cheesy... Drove around as close as we could get and headed in with the Bucho!!

Got close and could smell boar again as we got close to the bay... cut Bucho, caught hog and finally realized it was a BIG ass sow lol... sent the dogs on and they bayed up again a few hundred yds away  Grin

"Interim"  Grin

... after Daniel's FINE narration  Grin... headed to the next bay... figured out they had him backed up in some briars on the other side of a deep ditch... made our way around for a better angle to send Bucho in.  As we came around the corner, we could see it was a sho-e-nuff good black hog and sent the heat to him!!!  Grin

... right as Bucho went to hit him, that old hog dropped his nose and laid one on the Bucho I tell ya Shocked Grin  ... hog broke, but Shine/Whaler put the brakes on him as he hit the water... Bucho got back in the mix and then the fun began  Grin

As I went to grab him, I realized my hands weren't "quite" big enough to get a good grip around his tree trunk ankles  Undecided Grin... I got a bit "tense" as my backup arrived... as we were tryin' to handle hog, I could see Shiner was caught on his other ear, but her body was draped squarely over the bridge of the hog's nose... and I was "quite" concerned about it if you can't tell HAHA  Grin.... finally got him handled and realized just how big he really was... this barr is, by far the biggest we've ever caught

... now I knew there was still a boar unaccounted for....  Grin..... but, with all the action so fast, I figured I'd catch the dogs up before they "pushed their luck" if you know what I mean  Wink Grin... I guess I am a little bit superstitious lol... but I have learned, in life it is best to quit while you are ahead... another day my friend... another day  Wink

Wheeeeeeeeeeeew! You boys got ahold of ol' biggun didn't you? hahahaha Bucho had his hands....or should I say 'mouth' full with this boy. I'm glad you didn't get a dog hurt on this hog,....potential was sure there. I do believe that Lee may make a videographer yet....time will tell I reckon.....lol Good deal boys.....it sure is nice when a place that initially didn't look all that promising turns out to be a gold mine......nice job boys. Congratulations!

HAHAHA, thanks yall, Aussie... if you watch the vid you'll see my "apprentice" lol try to juke him on that right side... all he managed to ACTUALLY do was PISS HIM OFF lol....  he's still not figured out where the sweet spot is lol... after I told them(a few dozen times haha) to grab his damn legs, I finished him quite quickly

Didn't have a scale to weigh him... really wish we did.  Caught one weighed 305 a little while back and this bugger was a hell of a lot bigger to say the least.  Wish we'd taken more pics of him, he was so damn broad it was crazy.  Fellers were perty pumped about gettin' him quartered and in the cooler though, but I am glad this type of hog will be used and appreciated in his death.

That sow was also the biggest I've ever caught... couldn't believe it was a sow at first as her back was to my damn waste lol

You are the man, love the way you jumped off in that water. A man that cares that much about his dogs is a pleasure to see. That's a beast!!! Love the videos.. It's a go pro, correct? You need to bring those dogs & hat to Texas brother

Tony it's funny you say that about the water as that's the first thing I noticed as well and said something about it on FB. Good hogs Noah! I sure do love the way Bucho leads in and holds himself.
