i dont know. everyones so proud on this site of catching a mule foot hog. i have access to some nearby and im always looking for a way to pay for a trip to the land of little bucks and big hogs. thought someone might want some to mix in to the herd.Charles i can get a breeding pair but they are a endangered species of sorts so i believe they are a little more than double the price of domestics. I got some ossabaw island hogs started in my pen.the next ones i buy are going to be mule foots.

There's alot of mule footed hogs in certain parts of Texas if you know where to look. I don't know of anybody around here purposefully breeding them. The first couple you catch are pretty cool but after that their just another hog. I will say that one with all 4 mule feet is rare. Are the ones your talking about wild or pen raised ?

several years ago i ran across a site that was   an assc. of some name like a pig preservation society or some thing up north mostly where they were raising and preserveing the old breeds that have about dissapeared . but i can't remember what it was called.  but some of the folks were raising true and for the most part pure mulefoots and other breeds i hadn't heard of, that were brought to the americas by the setttlers and pilgrams . i need to start searching around and see if i can find it again . but basicaly they were a well sought after hog in the beginning of america because of their hardiness and adaptabilty for free ranging .

there are serveral breeders within an hour of my house. in mo. it seems like there are more in mo than anywhere. i know where some are now. i can get piglets for sure.I just havent called to get the details. Ill bring a load down to north texas in a month or two. maybe to a bay or something I just dont want to bring them if nobody want them ill charge 15 or 20 percent over what they cost me here.

just glanced at that web site....but, arent the true mule footed hogs supposed to have waddles(sp) on the side of their jowls, or somewhere in that area?  I've never seen one in person, only pics and video way back
