Heck of a hog Tony ! Since he is so gentle and tame you should scratch him behind his ear and tell him, thankyou for your sacrafice, before you butcher him. 350#

I'll say round 370, and great hog guys! That's a tourney winner for sure! I don't want to enter any tourney that won't take a hog like that! Congrats guys!

#335..  Chance i understand your point on taking the best strike dog out but not in everyones case.  SOme have dogs that sit back a little further and let the cd's do the dirty work.  Nice hog by the way and I'm not against barrs just saying allot of other dogs on that same hunt might not have been cut.  Everyones dogs are diff and i have hunted with Erik and Tony..  Dogs are pretty gritty for the bottom that they have..  Nothing wrong with that, just need to carry a staple gun a little more than i have too! Wink  Oh, and what happen to that BOAR running so far??   Wink

I don't really understand the statement but sure we will gladly buy extra staple guns!! Smiley I seem to remember those same rough dogs putting 10 in the trailer, compared to 2 for the loose one in the TDHA last year. Wink I'm not a betting man but I like those numbers. As for the first boar, he ran hardly anywhere bc of the rough dogs and tripod legs. The last hog that broke out and went a mile and half was actually another Barr that was laying with big boy

Oh i thought it was a boar!  Ya'll deff brought plenty of dogs, which is what we needed for the TDHA!  i can only speak for one loose dog on that hunt that stayed with the hog the longest!  Not speaking of anyones dogs being any better Tony, just stating that i think it can be done with less dogs (loose) and a good catch dog with less staple guns! Wink

I love the post just dont agree with some of the things barr hunters are fighting for?  DOesn't matter to me one way or the other if there going to be accepted...  i'd rather have a chance at winning against everyone weather there feed lot hogs, barrs, doesn't matter to me just saying i don't understand the fight beteween harder to catch or not!

My point was txhogsondogs is that it was a hog and it took time and he was not an easy catch if they are in the woods then they should be allowed it it is a hog. We track hunted this hog not knowing what was at the end of the race. Oh and he is headed to the packing house to be made into sausage witch you have openly stated you don't agree with either. But there will be food and alot of it made off this hog.

WHo said i don't agree with a hog going to the packing house??  Just picked up 2 last Friday!  (mine were 100 pds a peice though/ melt in my mouth)  I havent't ever disagreed that they shouldn't count in a post.  My point that i guess I'm not getting across is i don't agree with everyone that catches these barr hogs to be the toughest out there!  ALlLthe stories ive read with hogs running and taking allot of the pack out has happen to me with boars!  At least ya'll sent one to the packing house i don't have to worry about on the next way in! Wink

SO what did he weigh??

Ok you clearly stated that we are lieing about doing it for the meat. The first thing that was said is that this hog will make alot of sausage. Not I wish we would have saved him for a competition  The hog has not been weighed at this time he will be weighed this evening  To me barrs are tougher to catch than any boar but thats just me. And these barrs do run. Did this one no but does every boar no. I guess it don't matter much we will keep hunting and working our hogs enjoying what we do.

I sure did state that because cutting lets just say 30 hogs in a year which i know is low because i just started doing it, there is no way a family even of 10 can eat all that!  Just admit we do it for the sport!  I know of working hogs but todays times don't work them for the same cause!  Just like feeding protein to our deer, my grandpa always told me you can't eat the horns...  but dang grandpa they sure do look good!  Wink Same trophy we are all looking for!
