I'm thinking about breeding my plott gyp to a dogo. She will find pigs and is really rough. I've got some good ridgeback pups out of her but was thinking of finding a dogo to breed her to.. Any ideas??

if it were my plott gyp I would breed here to a leggy pit before I would go with a dogo...better yet I would look for someone who already has a plott/pit cross that has the qualities you want and breed to that...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I run pits for catch dogs but from what I've heard the dogo has a lot more lung capacity? Any experience with that??

That depends on the body type of the "pit". A good leggy pit will run with the curs but a squat low ain't gonna keep up for long.

Plott dogo cross IMO would make one rough Catchy strike dog... The dogo has a better nose and more stamina than most pits but I'm not saying better than all pit...

I run catdo's. Catahoula x dogos and bmc x dogo's I've been thinking about the plott Cross. In my opinion that's a good cross. I have dogos that run with bay dogs and do great. Plotts just seem to be more long range and great nose so why not. I would do it. Dogo or Pitt find another thread folks. Question is Dogo x plott. Go for it.

He asked a question if anybody had experience with a dogos lung capacity over a pits. So this is the right thread to answer a question the original poster asked.
