I've hunted with both.... And hunted silent and open hounds together.... Havnt had any problems. Whatever floats your boat. IMO... Doesn't matter. Personal preference has alot to do with it. Whatever you catch hogs with.

The " we didn't catch the hog because the dog is open " is used by people who's open dogs still wouldn't be worth a crap if they were silent...

That is directed towards everyone, not an individual...   Cheesy
