I have a dog who will stop a pig by grabbing the tail, leg, whatever. Once the hog is stopped or caught he goes in and grabs the ass or under the front leg and just holds. He is a gritty BD not a CD. Does anyone else have a dog like this? Anyone get one to stop and go for the ear. I was thinking of getting him off then placing him on the ear but not sure if that's worth the trouble assuming he will just grab whatever on the next hog.

He'll get cut less and make boars sit down rippin' on nuts... I like my bay dogs to do that. Leave the ears open for my catch dogs!!! That's just me though!!

That's one positive way to look at it.

Good Lord!!!! Lol
This a perfect example of how hunters can have different styles or I guess....how two hunters look at dogs differently.
My "Perfect" dog, lol, is this mans problem child.

I always take all the hogs alive and want the hog caught not torn up especially when selling them. I can't be the only one??

No...your not bud...that's what I like too....I'm just looking to put some ....nutt grabbing, I guess into my yard....not necessarily catch and hold but sit one down and back off and bay. Your dog is real close to what I want anyway, lol.

I am with wine on this one. Tough to change a right hander to a lefty it can be done just a long process and both have their role in the game. I just think you need to send him my way and start fresh!

I have a cat gyp that does that exact same thing. She is about 45lbs and will hang off the nuts of a hog and won't let go. I like it cuz she will make um spin and then sit them on there a** and go back to baying . Once the Catchdog catches she is hanging off the a**and will not let go till you pull her off.
