Gals too!! Smiley i started out just at a yr ago with some pups, learning a lot and didnt have a grown dog to help teach my.pups, they learned with me basically.  I run mostly at night, dont have a whole lot of places to go but love every time out.  Only fallen off a few logs crossin creeks.  Looking forward to runnin a few of these forests, so glad deer season is over!!  Only have a few buddies i go with, definitely not brave enough to go out solo, lol!!!  Its a great sport, got hooked several years ago thanks to a friend`s friend Smiley

Well I picked back up hog hunting with dogs I guess a year and half ago now maybe 2. Had a deer dog for almost 3 now and got on this site to see what it was about because I missed hunting with my ole grandpa and runnin dogs and met Justin Corbell on here. Just so happened our old ladies knew each other from child hood so after him being nice enough to let us tag along I got back into it. Now 5 dogs later and a GPS, collars and good friends I'm in for life.

Well I have been hunting for about 3 years now with dogs... I started getting puppies, and I started from the bottom up. Started my own pups, with help of one certain buddies dogs, now they can at least find a hog if it smells real bad, aint too far, and they just saw it cross the road  Wink Wink I am in trouble now... Have 18 dogs, which includes the beginning of "MY" dogs. I have tried buying a "finished" dog and had bad luck every time, either they suck or die. So I just decided I have dogs that will find hogs good enough for me, so I am going to manipulate what I got to make the dog I tried buying a couple times!!! I won't buy another dog nor will I sell a pup. I won't ask anyone to spend money on a gamble... No matter how tight bred a dog is there is still that chance they can throw culls. I am keeping 5 of my 7 puppies to see how they do, one is going to a hog hunting buddy, the other is at my sister's house for my nephew's first dog!!! I bought 2 yeller dogs a few years apart from puppies from a guy in Edna. He has damn good rough early starting dogs... One of them is my homie, the first dog I ever owned on my own. I hunted him for a bit, but he is suicidal gritty so he stays at home with the house and guards it. The second pup I bought from him I loved! I told myself never to love a hog dog, but dammit I loved that dog. She was amazing to me, and she died at 9 months old to some bull**** intestinal thing. All my other dogs were given to me, and man the free ones have been the best ones.... So if your also new start slow, I didn't, learn from people and more important LISTEN!!! It will go a long way.

I just started puttin a set of dogs together a few months ago. I have a 10 month old cat that seems to be doin real good. He bays good in the pen and has found two by himself "in the woods" and has helped bay several others. Its kinda funny for me to use the term "in the woods" cuz I live in West Texas and we really dont have woods....ha    Other than that I have a female pitt that will catch, two yella pups (5 months old), a cat gyp that has helped some but really hasnt started huntin, a brindle male bulldog (about a year old) that will catch in the pen, but wants to fight the other male dogs, and three just weaned prospects, 2 brindle curs, and a pitxdogo.   Im lookin to find a couple good honest strike/bay dogs. Nothin fancy cuz I cant afford a surenuff barn burner. Any advice will be appreciated.. Thanks, this web site has been alot of help to me.http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq87/rowdyrhinestone/IMG_5612_zps5c1a1d09.jpg

I have been hunting hogs with dogs for about a year and a half or so. I met a few guys off of here some good and some not so good... I have made some mistakes with my dogs and ruined a couple that probably could have been real good dogs but I'm trying to learn everything I can from anybody I can and I have learned a lot from this site. The hardest part for me so far is finding good guys to hunt with not the kinda guys that find out you have land to hunt so they try and be your friend (because they don't have any place of there own) until they find somebody with more land to hunt then you. Right now I have 4 dogs I have a good catch dog, a 5 month old yellow BMC gyp,a big ol brindle cur dog and the ugliest brindle coyote greyhound looking dog that you have ever laid your eyes on but he's my best dog for now but a cull to some. But on the bright side I can catch hogs with my own pack that I raised and trained and put the time into not bought! I love hog hunting and I try to go every chance I get! I would really like to meet more people to hunt with I have all of my own gear a few places to hunt and a full ice chest. I'm free anytime during the weekends and willing to make a drive or you can come to one of my places I'm 29 married with 2 daughters from Cut N Shoot 936-525-0872 Cody

I just started recently within the last few months. I have always hunted but never with dogs. I have had my dog for 7 years and he has been the best dog I've ever owned, i bought him from the pet store for $40. Got into huntin with the dogs and  wanted to see what he would do so we threw him in a pen with a hog and he did great so we went out Sunday with a couple buddies and their dogs, which was mine and his first outing and he went straight to the bay and when we got there he was locked on the pigs face. Now I have also bought me a new pup and going to have some more fun!

Got a half brother to her a few months ago, and just enjoying my dogs and tryin to spend some time in the woods with my family and friends.
