Been busy with work and traveling alot. They have sent me to Atlanta, Tenn, NC, SC and the Keys all in the last 2 weeks. Does not leave much time for hunting but I managed to squeeze a trip or two in last week!!!!
I usually hunt with 2 maybe 3 ppl MAX. I do not like hunting with a crowd of people and vehicles. But the other day I got asked to take 3 guys from New York that had never been to FL, let alone hog hunting. We took them to the ranch on a nice cold full moon night and after a few times getting smoked we lucked up! Caught 3 hogs back to back to back all within 75 yards of eachother! One was a nice boar hog and the other 2 were sows. We had all 3 tied and at the truck in about 20 minutes. The guys from NY were tickled to death. They asked me if we always caught 3 at a time LOL I told them it does not happen much
The next day me and a buddy were driving around the ranch at about 1-2pm in the afternoon just drinking a few cold ones and filling feeders. My dogs were wore out from the previous night and it was HOT. He asked if he could bring 2 pups just in case we saw something in the pasture, I was skeptical because we had no garmin or bulldog with us, but we loaded them on top of the box and took off. After riding around for about an hour we see his pup bail off and go across the pasture into a big head. 5 minutes later he is bayed solid!!!!! We both looked at each other
because this pup is usually catch first, bark second real rank!!!! We pulled to about 50 yards and walked his other pup in there, when we got close his pup tried the hog and the fight was on. We let the other puppy go and they both sucked her up!! She was a good blue listed sow with ALOT of fight in her!!!! We tied her and took pics then let her go...
