I am only 33 years young but feel 80. Been dealing with a POS neck since I was 19. The countless hours, days, weeks, months of bouncing in a tractor across hog root in big FL pastures has taken its toll. I am sure that car, 4 wheeler, and horse wrecks have contributed but its the rooting that I remember most. Most of the men in my family have all dealt with this. I guess that's why it's hammered into our minds from birth to hunt, trap, and shoot as many rooters as possible til the day we die. Once again I'm taking muscle relaxers, pain pills, and anti inflammatory while waiting for an appointment with neurologist. 3 herniated discs, arthritis, bone spurs, and degenerative disc disease. Who else hear feels my pain?

I am only 31. I have rotoscoliosis, (two major rotated curves in my spine) and two bulging disks. Carpal tunnel in both wrists and my right knee is bad, just got diagnosed recently with arthritis in that knee. I see a pain mgmt. doctor. Getting fitted for a custom back brace in 2 weeks. Meds don't help. I don't take my pain meds because they make me sick, so I'm about to start getting injections in my back that I have to be sedated for. Surgery down the road. VERY frusterating at times. I'm limited to where I can hunt (it's muddy and wet around these parts) and I can only handle so many dogs now. I tell ya what though, I will NEVER give up hunting, I will NEVER give up my dogs. Aside from my family, my dogs are a huge part of my passion for life and they help keep me going. I was a Vet Tech for 14yrs, and I had to stop working due to my physical limitations from pain. I used to be extremely active and very self sufficient. It is indeed very frusterating, but on my bad days, I always remember......there is someone out there that is WAY worse off than me, and I have to remember that I am blessed to be able to be mobile still and have what I have. Hope they find somethin' that helps ease the pain soon for ya....

ya i know were your coming from couple years back i got bucked off a horse, ended up having 9 bleeds and having brain surgery then i prety well layed around for a 6month period doing very little. a few months later im doing some hunting with a real friend he pretty well had to do it all as for as hunting about all i could do was load and unload dogs. couldnt lead a catch dog couldnt pick up anything. if we ever got in a bind i would do what i could to help out. lots of times after a hunt it would take 2or3 days to get over the headaches, went for a MRI couple weeks ago they found some bulged disk in my neck now i get to wait for nerly 3 months to see a nerologist to see if it can be fixed. i am better and am able to hunt and lead a catch dog just cant hunt as much as i want to.
