I've heard good things bout pit/Danes... There was one in here for sale awhile back wish I had snatched him up!
that was my pit/dane for sale a while back and he was a bad mofo ! im trying to get him back from the guy i sold him to . its a good cross IMO |

If you can't find a pure Dane that hunts well why would you want to cross it ?

Not for a dang hog dog. Hogs are caught in the brush I don't even like a big bull dog they can't move good enough when the dogs are big.

Ok I work with personal protection K9's but I frequently talk to hog hunters. Some of the same breeds are used in both faucets. I have a 105lb corso x pit that can move very well. I know two very well known breeders who breed dogs for both purposes. These dogs are around 140lbs. Now I'm not arguing or debating anything with you I'm just curious as to your thoughts you guys are the hog hunter I'm just hoping I can learn a little here and find what I'm after. I help run a facebook group called american bandogge mastiff and from time to time we go over hog stuff. I know this is what the dane was bred for and what about the dogo them are so e big catch dogs right. Now I also understand that people hog hunt all over the states from Hawaii to Texas to the south to northern California. I know different terrain calls for different dogs but I figure big dog can get in the brush on Texas and the south?

Come to think of it I know a hog huntet with a dane x pit now and that's what many were saying up above.

you gotta remember though, brush for me a may not be the same as brush for you......Texas terrain varies GREATLY, what works here (south east Texas) may not work great in West or South Texas and vice versa......its all about your individual needs |

I don't understand why you wouldn't just use a dogo.. They are bred for durability and stamina, along with incredible jaw power. I have a full blood great dane and he is an incredible pet. They just arent bred to have that kind of personality anymore. It seems like a whole lot of work to breed four generations of dane/pit/mastiff bloodlines to get what your looking for. When the original Dogo Argentino has already gone through that process. Thats just my opinion though.
