Being that the animal cruelty laws in Texas are written the way they are... I wouldn't allow it.

No matter what they tell you, you won't have any input on what gets aired.

This will not earn me any fan mail & this is just my opinion. First let me say that nobody likes to watch dogs baying hogs better then me but when it get publicized, watch out. I said as many as 20 years ago, probably 25 years ago that baying contest were the worst thing possible for our sport. I will list some of the negatives.

1. It brings to much negative attention to the media, Peta, & the Humane society. No matter how careful it is done, either hogs or dogs get busted up.

2. It has just about ruined Catahoulas & Curdog breeds. They are calling dogs hogdog champions & they could not go out in the woods & find their own hog to save their life. Dont get me wrong. I won the very first hogdog baying contest in Eufalla, Ala. that the Wild Boar Conservation Ass. put on & then won the very first baying contest that the National Catahoula Ass. put on in Ms. with the same dog. But, he was a hunting dog. This was a long time ago.

3.  It has brought our sport into the limelight. It has flooded the woods with wannabe hoghunters that have no more respect for the place or hogs that you stocked 30 years ago.

3. I have also met some of the finest people I know.(not a negative)

4. Fla. has already closed down baypens & I have not kept track of who else has done it.

I learned my lesson with National Geographic. When they get through cutting and pasting the film, they can make everyone involved look like idiots or cruel or whatever else they want. I would not do it.

This is the worst thing you could do.  If only one dogs bites a hog they will show it over and over and tell how curel this is and you let it happen.

I agree, because I have been there many times, thay say that you will see what they will show but fact is you only get to see it when it's on the TV and you can't even remember what they show and how bad it looked and they keep showing it over and over.

I don't mean to sound negative but that is probably the absolute worst idea I've ever heard!! Dog hunters have enough problems as it is!

As much as I would love to see it being glorified on tv and for them to show the true sport and family pastime that it is. I wouldn't take a chance with a big name place like that being if PETA found out they could offer animal planet a stupid amount of money to make baypens look evil and then poof, bend over and grab the ankles! I was thinking yes before until I remembered how the world is now. So my answer is no, don't do it

i am going to give you guys a little of what our lawyers and theirs have aggreed there will be nothing aired i dont not want aired, boarsnest has full editorial rights legaly they can not show anything we do not wish for them too, also at a bay pis en there r no catch dogs this does not just mean the pitt, terrier, dogo, etc specifically this means all breeds of dogs that catch, if a person is nobay t smart enough to know this they have no business with a dog in a pen, yes bay pens have gotten a bad light because they have been run behind doors like chicken fights instead of the legal livestock activity such as a rodeo that it is, people that hunt woods will always think e dogs r better than any pen dog and vise versa but anybody that has hunted with me knows i got huning dogs, anybody that hapbayd with me will tell u the same of my pen dogs, no matter how u shake it its all in the sport we all love and support on all ends nr just the end ur on is what will keep this sport alive for our kids, we would never do anything to harm the sport that our family lovesr just hoping to put it in a better light and show what it really is not what people think it is. therell be no blood no catch nothing negative in any manner or aspect.

I don't care how professional the bay pen is run, there is ALWAYS a dog that catches/bites the hog.

I guess the real question is the law going to come after... The pen owner, the dog owner, or both.

You may have editorial rights to the footage, but what about when the cameraman turns some footage over to the law.

anyone remember etoile'huntington area baying contest? Also had some catch and tie back then and somehow some photos made it in the national enquirer and a few other of them weekly/national magazines...I knew right away what was fixing to happen the first time I heard about it...I stopped going to the contest when they started catch and tie...

baying contest will be next...divide and conquer is how the antis operate...the brick wall comes down one brick at a time...don't look like it will at first... but it will come tumbling down...

I am not trying to be a nay sayer but there is no sense in helping the antis...
