What kind of mange is it? You can treat milder cases of demodex with ivomec......

PHOSMET...is the active ingredient in PARAMITE...I looked it up and it just might work on earmites too...

SEE BELOW... I COPIED FROM THE INTERNET...

Instructions
 1

Fill the 1 gallon pail nearly full with fresh clean water.

 2

Put on the rubber gloves. Add 1 oz. of phosmet product to the gallon of water. Stir thoroughly.

3

Pour phosmet and water mixture into the spray bottle using the funnel.

 4

Set spray bottle to stream. A fine mist may cause the mixture to get in the animal's eyes and mouth and cause illness.

 5

Spray the animal from the ears to the tail with the mixture. Apply the mixture heavily, making sure the phosmet mixture penetrates to the skin and not just the fur. Mange-causing mites live in the animal's skin and will not be killed without thorough contact. The mixture must be applied heavily enough that it drips off to ensure adequate contact with the skin.

 6

Dip a rag in the remaining mixture in the bucket and wring gently. Wipe down the animal to help press the mixture through the fur onto the skin.

 7

Wipe down the animal's head and ears with the rag, carefully avoiding the eyes and mouth.

 8

Allow the mixture to dry on the skin, and repeat every seven to 10 days until mange

As far as demodex goes.....All dogs actually carry the demodectic mites, but most will never have an outbreak. When put in extremely stressful situations, or malnourished, or in any case where the immune system is comprimised, a demodex outbreak can occur.

Demodex is the most common of the different types of mange.

In the bulldog world, blue coated dogs are especially known for having issues with demodex outbreaks. If a young dog breaks out in demodex for reasons not directly related to stress or illness, it is highly frowned upon to breed that dog, because the chances of his/her offspring of  breaking out are high.

X2...stress can bring it on but blue dogs and white dogs tend to be more suseptable and like she stated...it is a genetic issue so those dogs that get the mange should not be bred...
