I live in Arkansas where we don't have a huge population of hogs but it's getting bigger. I never killed hogs until last year I always just bayed em and moved them or let them go. My question is do y'all kill hogs or just catch them. There are more hog hunters now that think kill everything. I believe if all hog hunters kill without restocking the population will be greatly reduced. What are y'alls thoughts?

I used to be a hog killer, eradication was my goal. Now I'm a hog conservationist.

I prefer to barr and turn them all loose... but if it means I have to agree to kill everything in exchange for property rights.... I can live with it

Kill! Tearing up hay fields and costing way too much money to let go, and in this county we will never catch them all. But have barred a few!!

I get WAY more property by not killing than I ever got killing them. The ones that don't want them just want then gone but don't want them lying dead everywhere. I catch them where they don't want them and move them to the places that do! It's easy and everybody wins.

KILL KILL KILL !!!!! lol just depends on where you live . we will never ever run out of hogs in texas . if you hunt a place out just lay off it a couple of months it will fill back up . with all the hunting and trapping pressure on hogs in texas the population still increases each year .

there are way more hogs now than 10 years ago, but thanks to all the tv shows that make it look cool we have more hog hunters than ever before. I care nothing killing a hog. My dogs chewed up a piggy sow today and I killed her I hated doing it but she would have died

Kill em all. Only time I don't is when hunting on others stuff that don't then I pray my dog kills them before we get there. U will never kill them out not here. U kill a ton next week a new group takes its place. If u have food water and cover u got hogs. If by some chance u don't give it time.

If you like to hog hunt & dont have too many hogs, you better leave the sows & cut the boars.Rough dogs take a big toll on the population also.

Land owners usually make that choice for us. But they never say release it some where else lol. Small boars we try to release but not if it chewed up bad. But if a hog cuts one of our dogs bad to where the dog can't hunt for a few weeks, his a$$ is grass. We will pen him and train dogs with him and if he lives thru that I will cut em and let em go behind my house. Had one caught and was tying it up one time and my cup was jus walking by and the hog latched on to her leg. I wasn't thinking and slapped its head to get him off and it got ahold of two of my fingers. Needless to say when I got my fingers out he jus bought a free ticket to heaven with my 14" homemade sticker! Eye for an eye!!

in our part of Texas it is kill because we have way too many...and in some places it is so thick it is hard to catch them...some farmers have quit farming certain areas because of the crop damage...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I was brought up to turn sows loose, Barr the boars, & only kill what you will eat. Unfortunately that won't work anymore in my area. We have such an overpopulation of hogs that it makes it harder to hunt. If a hog breaks and runs a mile any direction chances are good the will run threw another group and break the dogs off. It used to be only the boars that seemed to do this, now a sow or shoat will. It has gotten hard to run down a runner, when it may be a different hog every mile, it's like they are relaying the dogs. I wish we only had 20% of the hogs we have now! It would also decrease the number of hunters. Too many poachers ruin it for all.
