Well, we went to the Jungle Bottoms last night and dropped the crew: Fred, Pistol, Bit... And had Jane and PJ for the CDs. The dogs go out and were hunting good right from the start. Bit was step for step with Fred and Pistol, which is all we can ask for from a 6-7 month old pup. We came to a good waiting point to let the dogs work an area, and that's just what they did. We posted up for like 20-30 mins and the dogs were working the area hard about 900-.85 away from us. They were circling and tracing back over their steps. It was just really cool to watch unfold on the Garmin.  They would get something lined out and stopped for a second, but it wouldn't stay stopped and back off to the races we went. Once the dogs hit the mile mark we headed back to the truck to regroup. Fred and Pistol were still out a mile at this point, and Bit got loaded up since she got left behind by Fred and Pistol not being familiar with rivers. Lol! We headed down the road to them and they must have got out ran or something cause they were 600 yards apart, and came to us calling them in from the road.  We decided to make a drive into the same place Blake found his solo boar not too long ago, and saw some good sign. So we decided to just drop Fred by himself, and boy did he not disappoint! Grin He struck a track about a 100 yards out and took it .7, and came bayed. So we headed to him, and every time we got within couple hundred yards they would break. We finally got within 175 yards out and decided to cut Jane and PJ to him. Ran in behind them to make sure nothing too bad was going to happen and Fred had a whole sounder bayed up by himself in some thick mesquite trees; thorns galore! The thicket was shaking and it was an uproar to say the least. We dispatched a good sow Jane and PJ were on, bout 170-180lbs, took a quick pic, and by the time I looked at the Garmin Fred was 800 yards out trying to stop em again. So we loaded back up and headed to him! Grin He took these hogs another 1.5 miles and ended up catching a smaller shoat about 40-50lbs when we got within 300 yards or so. Since it obviously wasn't a big pig we decided to give PJ some good experience and cut her and Jane loose from 200 out. They ended up caught on the same hog with Fred, so we dispatched it, and my buddy carried it out for some carnitas!!! Grin It was a really good and exciting hunt, and got Blake's cousin Caleb on his first hog. He didn't hesitate to grab the first sows leg either, and I think he is now hooked. My buddy Ramos is definitely addicted now as well. We are showing him the ropes and he seems to be making a good hand. Fred ended up putting down around 26 miles last night, and definitely earned his food! cant ask for any more outa that dog. Here are a couple pics.

Yes it was brother! I was impressed because I've never seen him or any dog for that matter stop and keep a sounder bayed like that by themselves.

Thanks guys... And she is pretty quick. At full sprint she is probably the fastest dog I own. And we have been having a decent year so far. Not too many dry runs, and have been on a hog almost every weekend so far. Hoping for another good boar hog soon though. Starting to wonder what's up with all these sows! Lol!
