I'm new at this and not sure i'm even asking the right question, but i want to know if I have a dog DNA tested can the results be used to identify a particular line of dogs?
I have a big, strong good looking leggy BMC thats half Ben and supposed to be half Ladner on the bottom side but I don't know for sure about the dam. He's been DNA tested and I have "his"  DNA test results but don't know how to coordinate the results to a particular line of dogs.

Any help would be appreicated

I may have answered to quickly.  I know you can have a dog tested and identify whether or not the dog came from a certain male or female.  I have several dogs in my pepers that have positive DNA test and it is listed on the pedigree.  I dont know how far back DNA can be verified.  If you keep up with the papers or regisrty, you should be able to be certain of a pedigree line for thier.  In order to know if the dog is out of a line, you are most likely going to need another DNA test from a dog in that line.

contact the owners of both sire and dam and ask if they would mind if a dna test was performed on their for lineage result. if they say no then i would worry about what they have to hide

Im not sure of the accuracy, but DDC Veterinary claims to be able to break down the lineage of a dog. I used them for DNA testing, and was happy with the results. You can find'em online.

CURMAN,  If you like the dog roll with it. What you going to do if you find out he aint what he suppose to be? Are you going to get rid of him? Use the money you would spend on DNA test on dog feed.
