Well I'm watching tv at my house after doing school work and decide to get my young dog rascal, and the two pups of mine and take them for a walk. Check out the neighbors new lake, and I took my .22 just to get them used to shooting and to take pot shots at random crap lol. Walk around awhile, shoot alot of .22 shells and start heading home. Didn't see any fresh hog sign which was expected. Headed back to the house. I'm 3/4 of a mile from my house by the way. I look down at my garmin and rascal and the two pups are 300 yds away. No big deal.... SOUND OFF! I think well awesome they've got a coon or diller or some varmit being pups. Get there and hear grunting. See this good listed boar hog. And shoot with my .22 hit the neck and didnt do anything to him, he broke and went 50yds and bayed up again. Walk in, pump my .22 take it off safety, put it on his ear hole, pull the trigger..... CLICK!! No more bullets.... I wasted all of them... So I turn around and walk out and head to my house. Walk for 15 minutes and get to my house a freakin mile later, look at my garmin and says treed. Turn my good yella gyp loose and she burns out and gets there to them. I go in the house, get a drink of water, my 30-30 and start my hike again. Finally get to them again and then ear hole the hog, snap some pics, and head home. Fun time.  |

Only way I could get him out alive would be drag him about 800yds up the side of a 40ft. Canyon and on top of that I was by myself.

Great job bud!! As big as he is, I'm sure he has some little ones running around with the same colors. I don't blame u for shooting it, u made a good choice and didn't chance getting ur pups hurt.  |
