Hog buyer closing for several weeks

different  country  dexter than here .....this  country here is  where  old timers  used  to  run  range  hogs ..... they  had  ways  to  curve  someone  that  was  killing there  hogs .....they  figured  that  person  had  more  to loose  than they  did ...and  they  was  usually  right ......  i  don't  blame  anyone  that  has damage  to  try  and  get  rid  of  em  off  there  place .......but  i  do  live  in the  real world  and  anyone  that truely  loves there  dogs  and  hog  hunting ... does  not  want  to  see  hogs  exterminated ....... i think  alot  of  the  hatered of hogs  gains  places  to  hunt ....and  thats  cool .....

Im not as knowledgable as most about trapping but pretty sure it doesnt do much for control. I kill every hog I catch and never had an issue about not being enough hogs. Dont think you can effectively manage the hogs if you trap, dog, rifle hunt helicopter or all of the above.

For my area.....flying a place will kill more hogs than any method, but I think dogging is the most cost efficient and productive for individual ranches or areas.

I agree with Mike...cause I have seen it first hand as well...dogs will keep them moved out. It could cause a concentration in other areas but those are probably areas that dont care or dont allow dogs.

If we stop and think about all of this everyone can see that we are not going to get rid of every pig it just isnt going to happen they re-produce to fast and in great numbers at a time when you are sitting in a deer stand and see 6 sows and 40-50 little ones all in the group together and then you look down another shooting lane and there are 20 more even if i empty my gun i will only get 4 or 5 if im lucky but give it a couple months and they will have made those up plus a few more we are not hurting the population as bad as some think i think that we might be keeping up or maybe gaining by 2% at the most well time to get off my soap box again thanks again for listening
