Ive owned and hunted with them ALL and I will have to stick with my plotts. There is enough diversity in the breed with different lines that I can get hotter nosed cur type dogs to ice cold nosed track pounding.

I gonna say a good ole cur dog. Don't need no hound it might be days before it comes home. This is saying you don't have tracking systems in this hypothetical question either.

Curious question to follow up. Out of these Hypothetical scenario breeds that make up your personal preferences............How many are running exactly that breed or cross now in a full pack without other influences?
when i hunt by myself i hunt 1 mt curr and have my lead in cd and get em shut down just fine... when i hunt with my buddys one of em has a plott and a cat and my other buddy has a plott and a bmc

Man if I co yld put togather a set of dogs like my cat male I would be set but while I say that think I would go with a pit/ridgeback ok nose not a super striker but can and will find hogs speed and catch power.

Man....I've been tryin to decide since I saw this post, what...a day or two ago. I use to be a straight Catahoula man but my yella dog made me think about it. There are so many variables, A good line...no matter the breed is gonna find you pigs. That being said...I'm still gonna have to go with a well bred Catahoula. Sorry Jasper
