Only thing to kill all types of tapes is prizaqintal. Who ever told you that , lied to you.

Had a cat dog that would not gain weight , had loose stools all the time. I panacured
Him and then fed him a tablespoon of powered garlic wrapped in cheese for two weeks. The garlic gets the tape worms that the wormer misses causes the worm to leave. This worked for my dog and didn't cost me a trip to the vet. If u continue to give garlic on a daily basis it helps with the fleas too, cheap and effective.

I don't know what you feed but I know folks that feed cheaper feed and end up spending more in the long run because they have to feed more of the cheaper stuff to maintain. You can feed them twice a day instead of once. The same amount you would normally feed just half in the morning and half in the evening. Another thing you can do is soak the feed. I have a female that I have to keep in a pen because if I let her stay loose in the yard or on a chain, she runs her weight off. Just my .02 worth.

Do the obvious things - worm with a "mectin" drench Iver, Aba (whatever) I give mine as an injection under the skin..

Then worm with praziquantel as stated above (I use horse paste much cheaper)

Then keep them warm and feed them well.  My biggest problem is keeping them slim.

Hey buddy.. Iam by no means an expert but when i have had this problem(which is rare for my fat dogs lol)  i either double feed portions.. or use the satin ball method.. Bullymax has helped put weight on also

How often do give a under weight dog the satin ball??

I had a pup once that would eat his before I could finish feeding the other dogs.  What I did was mAde him slow down by putting rocks in his bowl so he couldn't eat a mouth full at a time he had to pick up a little bit eat it and then dig for more I have since the I've  taken the rocks out and he's doing fine

Hope you get it solved
