I have the Tuff Skin antennas from Conkey's Supply on all my DC40s and they work pretty good for me.

U can get them lots of places on line. I get some from swamp dawg, hardcore hog dogs and gun dog supply. H&H is another place but I haven't ordered from them yet.

It would be hard for me to say.....I got rid of the factory ones pretty soon after I bought them....but I'd say at least a 1/4 of a mile.

Just bought gift skin antenna package off eBay. 2 antenna for, collars and 1 16" for handheld. $27 shipped to my door. Used them yesterday on cowdogs and didn't lose them till 1.2 miles. From then on till about 1.7 miles I just had to hold the handheld up in the air. Old factory antennas would start cutting out at .8 miles and hardly ever pick up over 1.1 miles. I thought it was a great investment.

I ordered some Supra Tuff long range antennas from The Buzzards Roost. 10 dollars each and free shipping. This is where I get all my Garmin stuff. No tax and free shipping!
