For a second there I thought you were typing Chinese. But I know the feeling. I had a ol chevy mud truck for 1500 well worth 2500 and had a guy offer me 800. Then he got mad when I asked him which tire he wanted off of it Haha.

Nature of the beast I guess. Myself I always ask if a man will take less. Most things have an asking price and a taking price. Granted u may see the offers as low but the ones offering were willing to pay what they offered and probly didn't need them. Another issue for me is used is used. Used once or 10 times its still used and who is to say ur barely used doesn't mean every other weekend for a year. To me I have a selling price if u offer lower u just don't get what I'm selling but u can offer.

I can understand shotgun's point of view in its nearly human nature and used is used, but i also understand boarhunter's veiw too. I myslef have stopped making an offer or unintentionaly low balling some1, if i want it, i pay askin price to the individual and if may not hav the money and i dont need it but nice to hav it, i move on. I dont like when a person put "Firm" but yet still get asked, will take this lower $? either the person cant read or dont want read the entire post. I also cant stand getn a call or txt sayin i aint got the money but i wanna waist ur time askn questions n wantn pics or " if i pay ur askn price, i cant flip it and make money", im not the welfare office, i dont hav any obama bucks n a free cell phone for ya.

I don't like it either. But if you don't ask the answer is no. I always say the price is the price. I had a tool box from a truck that got wrecked. The box was less than a year old, lokked brand new. A real nice aluminum box. I put a $100 on it at a garage sale. My sister kept telling me I was too high and tire kickers kept asking for a lower price. But none of them pulled up in a truck it would fit. I think they are people wanting to buy it cheap and then sell it themself to make some quick money. But when we were about to shut down the garage sale a guy pulled up in a full size pick, asked for the price, I said $100, he pulled a $100 bill. Anybody that has every bought a tool box for their truck knows that was a real good price. But I still had people trying to get me down.

My dad taught me back when we were selling coon meat and various other critters to pay the light bill that its best to set ur price higher than what u want. If u do this when a man thinks its fair and is willing to pay it u get more than u wanted. If a man wants to Jew ya he feels like he got a deal and u got the price u wanted. In either instance both parties are happy with the deal. I saw a man pay $13 for 2 coons after my dad told him they were $5 each or being it was the last 2 he could take both for $13. Dude handed over the cash and left smiling.

I guess it would be safe to say the box sold? lol

the ads that leave me shaking my head are when it says "Ford for sale. Would like $5,000 but will take no less than $3,500."  lol

We have this thing on the radio called "The Dixie Country Flea Market" where people call in, state what they have for sale, price, then there number. Free to call etc..

Well im a logger so naturally i listen to the radio 10hrs a day. and The flea market hour is a highlight, all sorts of cool stuff for sale. This old guy called in had a washer for sale, works good, nothing wrong with it, said he'd take a hundred or fifty for it. gave his number an hung up.

Now you tell me, you in the market for a washer, you gonna pay a hundred, or you gonna pay fifty?  Grin
