Bought two 9 month old dogs  from a guy on here a few weeks ago for $1,100 with a trial. Guy said they would range out with lead dogs but didn't leave my feet! Only reason I believed him that they would range out was because of blood line they were supposedly out of.  Now he's not answering calls or texts !

Whos fault is it ? Yours or his. I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, I'm just curious about where you honestly lay the blame. Did you hunt with them before you gave him your money? A trial is only as good as the man giving it. How many times have you taken them hunting before you decided they are no count? They might have actually ranged out with his lead dogs and they might start doing it with yours once they get use to you and your dogs. It's hard to honestly evaluate 9 month old pups, especially if you have only hunted them a few times. I'm not trying to get you stirred up, just giving food for thought and curious about your answers to the questions.

Not unless you (the guy giving the trial) really like them. I moved one of my gyp sisters when she was right at a year old....I knew she was gonna be rougher than what I wanted. She wasn't anything special...but she was one of my favorite dogs, just because of her build and temperament. I had a hard time convincing myself I should move her but finally did. Anyway...I gave the guy an open ended guarantee....but alas...he loves her. He runs 1 strike and 3 RCD. He said she fits perfect.

I hunted them 7 times and they got along with my dogs great , not once did they leave my feet, me and the guy we were over 300 miles apart and he swore by the dogs and said I had his word that if I didn't like them I could return them. I was nervous about them being 9 months old and hunting as good as he said  but I've seen plenty 9 month old dogs that hunt like they have been hunting for years  and knew that it was possible.

U can't really expect a whole lot out of a pup At 9 mon old. Hell I usually don't take pups to the woods til around that age in first place

Yea where is he from ? I drove from north central oklahoma to trinity  TX to get a finished cat bitch . Guy would never answer the phone after i picked her up.  she will go to a bay if you walk her within 100 yards. And she ir rough. But by no means a finished dog hell she dont even hunt . So i know how you feel . A big waist of gas plus a sorry dog . Gave her away.

You spent 1100$ on two pups from someone you didn't know that lives 300 miles away and didn't see them work before you bought them. Have you not seen the multitude of guys posting they have been burned by people over and over that shows up on here? Im sorry that it happened to you but honestly you should have been really cautious 9mo old pups are just that pups you can't expect much of a trial or guarantee on them as it is there just pups.

Man thats the risk you take buying dogs, but a man should stand behind something he sells. You said that the seller said they would range out with HIS dogs. You should keep in mind that these are pups and are unfamiliar with you or your dogs. Did you hunt them with your dogs or by themselves?

Yeah I was venting but a lesson learned. What's done is done and I am just going to be patient and give them some time and continue to hunt them and hole they turn out

Before I pay that kind of money for a pup it better have a homing device to every hog in the county and be able to skin it. Maybe I'm just cheap but I can't see it.

sometimes a 9 month old pup is worth 1000 bucks if you know what your looking at...could be a once in a lifetime dog in the making or maybe a great hog dog in the making...at 2 years of age money won't hardly get that pup...
