Looking for Grey Brahman show heifer

My oldest daughter caught a scramble calf at Houston this year, and is looking for a good quality Grey Brahman show heifer.  Must be registered and DOB of 1/1/2012 - 3/31/2013.

I'd prefer to find a heifer that has already been shown, and is placing well.

Where should I be looking?  Are there some good websites to find show cattle, or does anyone have any recommendations on a breeder?

I've already been in contact with V8. Something I should have mentioned in my first post,  I'm trying to keep from buying from an outfit that I will be competing against, particularly at Houston.  I don't believe they will sell their best to a first time customer, especially with them having some youth already showing for the ranch.

Ideally, I'd love to find a top quality heifer that was shown this year by someone that is now heading off to school and won't be showing in college.   Probably a needle in a haystack....

Why a Brahman?

In my pasture, with the exception of a few novelty cows ( Watusi ), I have grey Brahman, and F1 Brafords.  The heifer that she shows will end up in our pasture, and the HLSR does not have a class for F1 Braford in 2014, only leaving the Brahman as an option.

I have spoken at length with Chris, the president of ABBA, and he has given me a few leads to check out.  I just figured I would post up here and see what the ETHD knowledge base might have to offer in addition to my previous research.

I have a good buddy that lives in Collinsville Texas that might have what your looking for. He has some bulls from
V8 and hudgens ranch. I think he has 4 heifers that are show quality. They get allot of there semen from Brasil. You might giver him a call and see if he can help you. 903 651 1481

We don't have any Brahma but we've got some amazing red angus, gelbvieh, and some crosses. We love helping out kids that are showing.  We've got some kids here locally that got calves from us and they did awesome at all the shows they entered. I'd be happy to show you some anytime you wanted.

You might try the bulls eye ranch or tic tac toe ranch but think the v8 has got some nice spring born calves

This is David Murrel in Winnies number they had some real nice ones and don't have any kids or grand kids showing right now as far as I know.

     I'll be out at the pasture mowing this evening, and I'll see if I can get some recent pics.   I made a decision to sell all but two of my cows in early 2012, and start over.  Right now I the oldest thing on my place is 3y/o, with most of them being heifers.  I'll never be a big time operator, and don't really have the desire to have a large herd.  If I can keep my numbers to less than 50 head, and continue to enjoy the "hobby", and raise cattle that I enjoy looking at, it will suit me just fine.

The Watusi - she is 6 months bred to a Watusi bull





a few of the braford heifers I picked up late last year.   The little bull is off the Clark Angus ranch, and has been used on corriente heifers the last few years. I figured he'd work well as a heifer bull, then I'll try to find something I like better for next year.

why not a braford? Check With Rock rest Ranch in Malakoff, Tx. They are Great People, and not to mention have a few good brafords to choose from!
