I have been hunting a while now, a couple of years, but this is the first time Ive caught one by myself and with just my dogs. A bunch of hogs are over at my uncles place and my buddy got hurt the night before on his horse and my brother was to tired from working that night so I just went by myself. Loaded my 3 dogs up and my brothers catch dog and headed out. Got in them thick and they killed a few shoats and then they struck out about 800 yards and started putting the hammer down on a one. Got about 40 yards from the bay and let Mojo go and he sealed the deal. I imagine she weighed about 170lbs. Needless to say I was grinning from ear to ear. Oh yea and that was my red dogs first hunt ever and he did damn good in my opinion. Stayed step for step with my other 2 dogs. Going back soon to try and catch a few more.

The black and white dog is a catahoula mix I got from a buddy about 5 years ago. To this day I couldnt tell you what his daddy is but he is a hustling son of a gun. He is what I started with. Has found quite a few hogs the only thing I dont like about him is that he will leave the bay once he sees me. Gets very frustrating. Other than that he will go strike and bay all day. Thats ok that brindle dog behind him is about to pass him up. He is turning out to be a hand.

Pretty dog I must say, you try tieing him to a tree to keep him from leaving the bay? I wouldn't have guess that dog being that old. How old is the one behind em that's bout to pass em?

I am going to work with him in the bay pen to get him back use to me being there while he is baying. The brindle dog that is behind him is about 2 years old I think. I got him from a buddy last fall and he is really turning it on. I look for him to be my number 1 before to long. He just needs on some more hogs and he will be jam up.

Sounds good man. We will hit it up. I figured you would have been out in the woods this morning. Its suppose to rain tomorrow from what I can tell. Would be good if it would rain and then quit.

Yes sir I was very proud of them. Hopefully they will catch many more like that for me. Im sure they will I just gotta get on some more with them. That was my big red dogs first time in the woods and he stayed step for step with my other 2 dogs and bayed his butt off. I was very pleased with him. Ready to tie up some more.
