Last Sunday we branded about 30 dogs.  Until today my dogs seemsed to be fine. Today I noticed a nearly dime sized hole, deep enough to stick the tip of your finger into right on the branded area.  It's on the front shoulder and I don't think she can lick it.  I flushed it out with water. Any ideas of what I should put on it?

What would you do? Is there a better way to brand?

Tattoo is a good branding method. I did my last litter that way n used kuro sumi ink, it seems to be the better ink that doesnt fade in my tatts

Dry ice in a bucket + liquid nitrogen.. Inset brand until iced up handle... Secured dogs on truck bed.. Hold longer for light dogs... I have been treating her like a cut dog and she seems to be healing fine.

Would you still reconsider or do it with a freeze brand

The fact that the brand was held on too long one of my dogs skin ripped open and nearly cut her back ham in two. Another's skin ripped really bad both dogs were out of commission for months. Another one of my dogs brand did not hardly show up. I am sure of the right person did it? Results may have been better. JMO

Who was it that made custom brands real cheap? I was going to get one a while back and never got around to it.
