dog aggression

i was thinking about this yesterday and read the other post about dog grudges. i got this dog i rasied from a pup and hes still young but for some reason he thinks he is " the man" when i go by myself hunting he acts normal but i usually hunt with another guy alot and for some reason this perticualar dog just dont act the same he wants to bristle up and walk with a bowed out chest when he needs to be kicking rocks and he dont hunt near as good when im with this other crew of dogs as of when im by myself. i was thinking about cutting his nuts out, hes not a cull hes a pretty decent dog to be young. when another male dog passes him on a track he will come back but will keep going if its a female dog or by his self. i was wondering if cutting his jewels out would fix his problem. what do yall think

I haven't done it but I do know someone that had a dog that was like that and they fixed him. He don't have his mind on that anymore. If he's a good dog you won't get pups tho

i thought about the not getting pups off him but we got both parents to him and all his siblings between the group of us that hunt togethor, one of his brothers is grouchy like mine is but not quiet as bad mine is the grouchiest i have seen, the daddy of them will bristle up but he is a straight hog dog, i was aggravated with mine yesterday he just kept bowing up and scratching dirt and i got to wondering if the cutting would straighten him out. if i do clip him will he get fat like them big labs i see on the back of peoples truck?

I had one that would do that all the time had to keep a shock collar on him just for that and I would bump him at the first sign of aggression and he would quit it took a good but but after awhile he would kinda shy to other dogs bowing up

no he won't get fat. My yeller dog is cut and he is just fine. Ran 20 miles the other night after a couple hogs. Buddies dog is cut too he does just fine

yeah i tried the green limb and the boot. i have not tried the shock collar, i might try it a time or two and see if it will improve and if not i think its gonna be clip clip.

Alot of folks think that neutering = obesity right off the bat. Neutered dogs ARE prone to gaining weight faster yes, but if you keep him active and adjust his feed accordingly, you won't have to worry about that. If it were me, and you're not concerned about not getting offspring off him, I'd do it, as it very well may adjust his attitude issue. Just my .02 cents.

My dog was new to the pack and I guess he felt like he needed to establish dominance. Anyway, they start at it and we'd brake it up and then repeat cycle. Finally we let them go at it (supervised) on the way back to the truck. They went at it for MAYBE 10 seconds and broke themselves up. Now, they hunt together and get along great, you could put them in the same Kennel if you wanted.

I don't think that will work with all dogs , I would put both on Leeds  and shock collars and two men with no fear , do As you said and lead them around each other and correct them for growling ect . It worked for mine , well I say that , if I'm there they won't look at each other ,and also my chow was cut for this reason but in my case it didn't work , he still try's to piss as close to Jorge as can

i dont mind the dog fighting i just dont like that walking around like a bowed up rooster and that scratching dirt like he is mr big dog. and whats really aggravating is when they get on something and another male dog passes him he comes back. i thought about putting him and another dog that he hates in the same side of the dog box and just shut the door. i wonder if i put about 3 or 4 male dogs in a dog box and got one of them cattle hot shot sticks and waited til they went at it would that due the trick. i have been thinking about this dog for awhile now and im gonna straighen him out one way or another

I had one dog cut a few years ago for the same reason.  ALL it did was make him not care about breeding!  it changed NOTHING else.  and i had him cut at a year old.

sum dogs do this not on aagression level but a low confidence level, u have to know ur dog watch him and if its on an agression level grab him and roll him on his back yell and screm like a crazy man with ur hand o his neck and gut, u need to be the alfa not the dog, pee in his kennel around his food and water, make him understand it u giving comands not him, works on my dogs

The dominance has to be settled or you will always have problems. There ain't nothing you can do to stop it. Just let the dogs work it out. That ain't fighting it is pecking order. A dog that just fights can't be used. When I was younger me and some of my best friend threw a few at each other. While it may have looked like fighting to others we would be just fine when the dust settled. Just let the boys rough it up and they will work it out. You get involved it would be like a cop jumping in when me and my friends went it. There just ain't no reason for it.

this has been talked about in some fashion on several diffrent post , Im like clinton , you need to establish whos boss ( pack leader ) a dog cannot sit in a pin to get taken out every once and a while and expect it to be a gentelman , it takes work and time and a leader with authority , I run five bulldogs together , 72lb linebred chinaman male , 60 lb chinaman male , 92 lb american , 50 lb red nose female , and my new pup is running in the pack , I exercise these dogs a couple of times a week running a few miles , its been said in these recent post that a calm well mannered game bred dog is the exception not the rule and I say that a calm well mannered  pack leader is also not the norm, I know anything can happen but I must have a whole pack of exceptions ,Ive videod my dogs running on the river together  , 3 of them are linebred game bred pitts , 2 males not fixed and three females, when I figure out how to post the video of a whole pack of bulldogs running together playing , yes I have had two be a pack leader to adjust a attitude a time or two , but this is what can be achieved with work , handle and training with game bred bulldogs ,I will somehow post the video soon

the fifth dog took after a bunny in the woods to the left , just punch on the pic and it will send you to the video , this will show that extreme handle can be acheived with so called aggressive dogs , game bred dogs ect. and is not always the exception, it just takes work , work , work,  handle , handle , handle ,and stepping up to your position of pack leader IMO ,

Bobs got it IMO. Have 55# Little Gator male & 50# jeep/redboy female that stay off chains with my hound x's. Only dog my male can't run with is my buddy's bmc. Any dog that hackles up or show aggression he is hittin. The bmcs won't leave him alone lol. Female all good with anything. Took 20+ years for me to learn how the pack works imo. Yall heard of Cesar Milan.Jk but guy knows his stuff bout dog behavior. Take care
