Quick hunt after work turned into long race.

Made a quick run to the house after work loaded up the dogs and wheeler. Met up with a friend of mine Jordan and dropped dogs around 5:15. Dogs all took off and 10 minutes later bayed up on this sow. Got there tied her up and then the fun began. By the time we had her tied up we realized that my buzz dog and one of Jordan's gyps were 800 yards and booking it. They bayed three times and every time we got within a few hundred yards broke and ran some more. Finally we were within 30 yards in some of the thickest briars I've ever witnessed and decided to cut chomper my bulldog loose. When we cut him loose and followed suit somehow me and Jordan both got tangled up in the briars and there was no squealing looked at the garmin and buzz and Jordan's gyp were 300 plus yards headed out. I started to worry because I thought chomper might have tried to run with them but i heard him whining. Got to chomper and he had briars wrapped all around one of his back legs and all over the straps of his vest. He was pretty tangled up. Ended up having to cut all the briars off to free him up. It was almost dark and the dogs were headed towards the road. We decided to cut them off and go get the first sow out of the woods before dark. One gave us the slip but at least we got the first one. Once we had the first sow tied up it was around 5:30 and we ended up cutting them off at 8:15. Proud they stayed with the hog for over 2 and a half hours but sure wish we could have got rid of that runner.
The only pic I got.
