it should have an antenuator switch.turning it off cuts the range in half tobe better at pinpointing the collar.  on the led model u should be able to follow the lights an b just fine.  kinda hard to not get some kind of beep when u are that close.    WHEN IN DOUBT BUY A GARMIN 220 OR 32O!!! Evil
Wildlife 48 telemetry question: answer its going to get your dogs kill sooner or later!! wildlife picks up oil pumps , cell phones ,too much of a chance ! watch your going to go to a magnetic pump an see that your to late there dead ran over by a car or a hunter shoots your dog an your going to wish that u had only used the Garmin. oh well its your dead dogs u put to much trust in  them ....sell the dam dog number 2 your not teaching your others dogs nothing!!lol
never had a prob in 15 yrs and I hunt in and around the city !

My dogs hunt good an are not long range, short to med striking range an bottom to stick for miles an bay for hours ,and gritty enough to stay in the bubble of a hog, there's no scent's trying to call them off its faster to catch the hog. an the Garmin dc40s brings them home every time !

Just wait mud it will happen.... I had two on my collars stop tracking just this weekend. Saturday my top dog was 800 yards and headed towards us in a round about way, she was running a hog and had just been a couple of miles from us when all the sudden i loose her. I was able to pin point her with my wild life and started calling her off from the direction she was at. The garmin finally picked her collar back up when she got fifty yards from me. One of mikes prize pups had the same thing happen saturday. Sunday my second best dog had her garmin collar stop tracking at 746 yards when she was running a hog and it didnt pic her back up until i got within 50 yards of her. I dont know what causes the garmins to fail but it IS a problem. I was not tracking for at least two hours and with a dog like her she could have been miles away from us. So from here on out my mutts will have a wildlife or some sort of back up telemetry collar on. Both of the garmin collars were under three months old that failed this weekend.

Hey travis have you tried using a garmin??? Wink Smiley hahaha

I had the same issue last saturday travis, i couldnt figure it out either....smoke was out over 1/2 a mile a cpl times and never had a single issue with his collar.... then he came in to under 700yds and it completely lost him for over 15minutes.....now the old man doesnt get so far out in his old age much any more but he will still leave real quick on a fresh track......never did figure out what the issue was and it eventually picked him back up and didn't screw up again. I agree with you 100% tho, garmin still hasnt worked out all of their problems.....it seems to happen to me with one collar or another dang near every hunt......

Seems like everyone was having issues Saturday....  We couldn't pick up our collars good even with the hand held long range....  Oh well, loosing my dogs for alittle while is better than having them kilt because of a beep beep system...  Wink

this weekend there were some forrest fires in Mexico and the winds were channeling the smoke over Texas as per the Houston news report...thhe smoke might of caused the signal strength for the Garmin to drop off some especially in the woods and thick cover...Just throwing that out there as a possibility...

I wonder if having wireless internet on my cell phone and using it while using the Garmin if that will cause interferance between the reciever and collars (Garmin)...

That was a joke Mr. Muddog....

I have lost dogs for longer periods of time with the Garmin than when I had a telemetry system....
Garmin has taken me the wrong direction, not picked up, just quit working etc etc... I stay mad at my Garmin but won't run a dog without one...

Dogs killed because of telemetry collars.... Awww poo...
Guess you got the only Garmin that works like the box says they do...

I had to go Sat morning and track a young mans dogs because his garmin quit working and his telemetry system wasn't working. Didn't take long and I was able to drive right to his dogs. If your dogs have any range to them at all I would put telemetry collar on first then you can put the garmin on.  However, I don't feed anyone else's dogs on here so use what you feel works best.
