Well it may not be the answer you are looking for but, you may consider running just very short range catch dogs or find the biggest mouth hounds you can.
What did our grandpas do before tracking systems? They have not always been around. A huge reason hounds are poular in the eastern mountain states is hunters could hear them from a long ways and stay up with a pack of hounds before tracking systems.
If nothing else, spend money on a collar and see if your buddy will track your dogs.

U can Prob find a good used 220 an couple collars pretty fair price these days. Or any other system. I would suggest a used garmin or quick track. See them for sale good bit just have to search for them

there is a sport dog tek you can buy. way cheaper then garmin its just not as advanced

You can get used garmin stuff cheaper than sport dog stuff. I've got a 220 and a dc30 only spent like 360 total. You can get a 220 for 200

is that just the collers or holl system the onl reason i want one is i nam getten new dogs dont now what they will do i like short range dogs where i hunt cant use wheeler gov woods in neches river look out totart back old and fat to do alot of walking with new dogs you never know got to start back with pups so you never know

Bite the bullet and get ya a used garmin. It may be a little more than you can get a telemetry tracker but hunt with a garmin one time and you'll know why its worth it. Like Easttex91 said itll get you in the woods and you can always add more collars later

were did you find that at?? Friend of a friend on the 220 on the 30's I met a guy to buy 6 of them to be split between 2 buddy's and myself. When I got there he only had 5 so I ended up with 1. |
