Just wondering if anyone's ever make a home made automatic dog feeder!. Iv seen they make automatic feeders at tractor supply, but I'm looking for something with a timer. I work a lot an have my ol lady feeding my dogs when I'm gone,  so kinda looking for something with a exact amount of feed being fed. If anyone has any ideas please post pics an a idea. thanks

There use to be a deer feeder that....where the motor and slinger were normally at....well...it had a motor...but it didn't have a slinger....it had a little bucket that dumped some exact amount of feed. It would tip and dump it straight down. With some modifications I can see something like that working....it would be pricey but it would work.

What bout using a deer feeder spinner n timer? Set the timer to spin for "x" amount of time, producing an "x" amount of feed weight. Make a collection bucket to collect the feed spun out, with a tube connected to bucket, tube leads to the food bowl. U could basicly load up ea dog with a couple 100lbs of dog food, put on a timer.

That's kind of what I had in mind with a deer feeder an a timer, with PVC pipe around it do the feed won't go out wards, just strait down.

Now you got me thinking. One for each kennel and I don't have to worry.

Thats pretty spify, but for half the cost, and 4x the holding capacity, a person could build their own out of a deer feeder
