When I was in High School I went to school half a day and was a Ranch Foreman till well after dark. (Everyday) You should have your collar in no time. Also you shouldn't need a tracker on a good squirrel dog anyway. Just drop him in the squirrels. I also ran coons for many years With nothing more than a light and a compass.

That is like saying that you can't eat without a microwave oven. How did people hunt with dogs for centuries without a Garmin? I wish I had a Garmin but I have a family to take care of. I am working a job that I won't even say in public just to take care of my family. I have never had a Garmin because I just can't spend that money. I don't see no problem with hunting without a Garmin. Try using your ears to find your dogs.  If your dog don't bark just wait for the squeal to be real.

A man should never be ashamed of his job as long as its an honest living. U are providing for u and yours not living on someone else. Any man should take pride in that and the fact that the job may be less than desirable shows the length u will go to ensure u provide for them,

Do a little trading , before money was any value and people started getting greedy, trading was the key to success , swap one of your dogs or a hunt or anything of mind, all someone can say is no , they cant eat you . Just as easy to ask for something than it is to do without is what ive been taught . Either way your feeling are hurt , being told no or not being able to run your dogs.

A garmin is a luxury not a necessity.... Not too put myself on the shelf but the first public job I had I was 17. Only being 22 now I was considered spoiled because I didn't have a public job that other kids my age seen but since I was 13 I had a truck, stock trailer and plenty of dogs I mended fence kept 4 working horses legged and tended to and tended to over 150 head of roping steers(Hayed, fed, doctored, casted horns, and hauled to lease) due to my dad working shift work.... But I was considered spoiled. Where there's a will there's a way

I don't know where this young man is from....but if it's down there in south TX where lots of y'all live,.....from what I've seen of it, a man trying to make money mowing yards would be in sad shape! When I was there I didn't see enough grass to make a half of a yard where I live. Rockiest place I've been to I reckon....I don't see how a hoofed critter has a chance.....looks like they would keep their hooves worn off to a nub. Cheesy Too hot to be squirrel hunting anyway.

nope we got two days left of the spring season .  lol   jobs are real hard to come by these days for our youth , and that is a fact  . when I was young there were plenty  of hay to be hauled and what -not   but now it's all round bales .  the kids used to take summer jobs at the fast food places but those are all snatched up by the illegals aren't any full service gas stations around to pump gas at and the convenience stores are all owned by arabs and they only like to hire their  own kind . it sucks to be a young white man in America these days that's for sure .  hell it sucks to be an old white man in America these days as well lol  . but just take your time and don't fret hunter something will come together , till then hunt your dogs when you can and be sure they are tagged proper with your phone number and you'll be allright .  some of you folks sure are some hard asses , hell school ain't out yet give the young man a break before you pass him off as a lazy don't wanna work welfare recipient   lol

Family is family, the entire family has to work together in order to survive. Yes a 17 yo shouldnt have to support the parents, but in order to keep a roof, food n cloths, sometimes it takes everybody. At 13, i used go to school, come hm, get my chores done, start dinner, make coffee for my dad so when he got up to go to work, dinner was ready, cloths laid out, coffee in his thermos n he hit the door for work, then i eould get my school work done n do it again the nxt day. Winter time, i had more chores, but my dad provided a roof, cloths, food in my belly. I did everything else to make it easier on him since he was the only parent i had. I wish i woulda done more for him. Hind sight is 20/20

Ok, I'm gonna pry some. Your on the internet, Either with a computer or smart phone. Also, you hunt with a Garmin. Times are not that hard.

Your probally not gonna get much pity from this crowd. We hunted a LOOOOOOONG time without a Garmin. But either way, Find a job, Haul scrap, Or hunt without. Sell one of your dogs if your desperate.

If you gotta give your money to your parents, put 10 dollars in a piggy bank and do what we had to do and SAVE. Kids dont know the first thing about patience these days

Well some people from church have seen me at work. I ain't ashamed of taken the job. I just don't work with anyone that has hunted anything. I feel like a real fish out of water. I am about to start delivering pizzas too. I need a new engine in my truck and the Cummins ain't cheap to rebuild. I won't waste time about how times have gotten hard but if something don't turn fast I may have to sell my dogs. I told my wife we were just keeping our nose above the water so it was time to go under and hope we come up in shallower water. If you see all my dogs up for sale next month it ain't no dog jockying. So a Garmin just ain't nothing to me.

But I will say I got one good woman. She loves me when I can't even take care of things that I should. She don't hunt or even like my dogs but has never asked me to sell them. She ain't kicked my out on the streets either. My family is healthy too. So I just thank God for what I do have. No matter what happens in the next month or so things will be better at the end of summer.

So how in the world do you break a Garmin collar anyway? Gators have eaten the dog and the collar still worked. Are you talking broke or just don't work no more? But the only time I use one is when hunting with someone that has them and wants to track all the dogs. You don't need one to hunt. I ain't trying to give you a hard time but are you telling me you ain't never hunted without a Garmin? Guess I am getting too old to understand some things.
