Has anyone or currently own one? If so how do you like em?  Wanting to know about reliability and fuel mileage mainly and how did it drive and ride.
Thanks
Matt

Thanks for the replies gents!

This whole quest began when I started looking for a car that would get somewhere around 30mpg and cost around $2500. I started looking and found a chevy tracker with 100k miles and the owner swears it will get 28-32mpg on the highway. At about $3500 when you factor in the extra room and 4x4 I think it would be a lot more handy than a car and worth the extra grand.

Matt, remember my maroon one? 2002, 2 door soft top, 2.0L, 4x4 with an automatic. 3 in. body lift and set of 30 inch mud terrains. Not sure on mileage cause we just hunt and leave it at lake for putting my pontoon in the water. I like the fact that its got factory front and rear lockers. I did have to replace the 4x4 "air actuator" pump and put a set of Warn hubs on it for certainability. It's a great rig but short so I don't like 60 on the highway.

Matt, I have a 1990, 4x4, 3 speed automatic trans. Tracker and I like it so much that I would get rid of my 2009 Chevy Silverado before it. The best thing to do is find one that is in good condition body wise and have a new engine put in it. I payed 2600$ for mine, which is too much from what I know now, and payed around 2k to have a low-mileage engine dropped in it. Since then I've put a 2.5 in. lift kit, new 31x10.5r15 mud tires, and a dog box on it. I get damn good mileage around town and on dirt roads and can hunt 3-4 times off of a 30$ full tank of gas. It's not great on the highway with the big tires on it, but that's not what I intended it for. Other than me, my buddy Rance has a Suzuki sidekick, and Jesse Paul has a Suzuki Sidekick Sport (with the bigger engine) and we all like the hell out of them. I'll post a pic of mine for you.

This is the one I went with. 2001 4x4 four cylinder automatic with 107k miles on it. Pavement queen and runs and drives great. I needed something that I could drive about 100 miles a week to work and then another 250 miles a weekend, get good mileage (25mpg+), carry my son as well as some tools and maybe a dog or two.  I drive prolly 60 miles a week down dirt roads so I wanted the 4x4 to be able to handle those after a rain and also wanted to be able to ease around our property quietly and look at deer etc (which I can't do in my 12valve dodge!). As long as this girl stays reliable it should work fine and if I don't like it for some reason you'll see it in the classifieds

lol the chevy tracker I was talkin about my x having was a bit older and a different style than that one......not what I was expecting lol. The one I was talkin about looks ALOT like a samurai, I'll try to find a pic of one like it in a bit. Hope that one works out well for you, looks a bit more comfortable and roomy than what I was talkin about!
