Not much you can do. Sounds like y'all just hunt in close proximity to each other. If you both have legal access to the places you hunt....?......not much can be done. Exchange phone numbers...try to work it out that your not hunting same nites.

Have you talked to them about it?

Hell...I don't know much about coon hunting but if they aren't just jerks couldn't you just finish out the nite together? If your dog gets it done and ain't really affected by their dogs.....let him shine. Lol

If you can't work it out...one way or another...and place is public access and as big as you say....heck...just move to another spot. I would think coons are easier to come by than hogs. But what do I know.

If u n the other hunter/s cant come to an agreement n cant hunt together. On public land, it falls on who gets there first. If u can show proof u were there first, u can call the warden n he can site them for hunter harassment

If you don't want to run into other hunters or have their dogs come into your tree I would stop hunting public land it is what it is public. JMO I would not contact a game warden on a fellow hunter on public land.

The Sam Houston is LARGE, were at are you coon hunting? you should have plenty of room to get somewere to avoid anyone. And don't road hunt your dogs....they will give you a ticket if they catch you and won't be very nice about it either.  Wink

Sure, ur with in the laws for public property, i guess its better for u to puck up and move when the other unethical fellow hunter can continue to brake the law. Why should u not use the law? Thats what its there for, its public land and there r laws set in place to protect every hunter against unlawfull encroachment. Its 1 thing if they turned loose a mile away, but turning loose on top u, sure, u should pick up n move n forget there is a law to protect ur hunting rights. With the thought process of some, why should there even be hunting laws, as long u bow down to others. If an agreement cant be sought, use the law, no matter what others may say. Protect ur self, others wont do it for u

On public land it is the first person that kills the animal not when your dog gets on it. Soounds like the other guy has some lazy dogs that go to a bay instead of finding a coon. I would just pick another spot because coons are everywhere.
