It's pretty simple....

1. Ads on this board are strictly between buyer and seller, ETHD assumes no responsiblity.

2. You must include a valid e-mail AND phone number in your ad, no replies can be made on this board. If you do not feel comfortable providing that information, then post your ad elsewhere. Negative comments and/or bashing the individual or the dog in other posts will not be tolerated and will result in being banned from this forum. Any disputes between buyers and sellers will be held off the boards and in private. All IPs, phone numbers and e-mail addresses will be turned over to law enforcement if any legal actions are taken.

3. BUYER BEWARE... research the seller as much as possible. If the majority of their posts are in The Dog Trade, that should tell you something.

4. Sound advise: If you are going to spend a bunch of money on a dog ... GO SEE THE DOG HUNT/CATCH BEFORE YOU BUY. Any respectable person selling a proven dog will not have a problem with this, if they do turn and run the other way. Also get a trial period on the dog, but remember this... it takes a lot of dogs time to get used to their new owner and new packs. A short trial period is not always sufficient.

                                   *** WARNING TO SELLERS ***
If you are advertising a "strike" dog or "finished" dog... you must be willing to show this dog in the woods!!! If you are not willing... do not advertise the dog on here!!!

                                   *** WARNING TO BUYERS ***
DO NOT... I REPEAT, DO NOT MEET AN INDIVIDUAL SOMEWHERE AND HAND OVER YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A DOG YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN HUNT OR CATCH!!!!!!!

Don't come back to ETHD bitching because you got screwed over on a dog where you met the guy on the side of the road and took his word that the dog is as stated.

Same reason doors have locks, onlne accounts have passwords, and ETHD has the policy it has, there are crooks out there looking to make a quick buck.

I am not going to spend my time moderating a pissing match between a buyer and seller.  If you have a problem with how ETHD handles it's business, then don't log in.

The only one week trial and guarantee I'd ever give someone is this....  In the first week that I even sold the best dog i have, he is guaranteed to piss you off atleast once, eat, chit, and he will also find you a hog more than likely.  If you want a "trial" then its at cost of the price for the dog, plus if returned, he gets a full check up including xrays at the vet of my chossing and tested for every disease known to man or dog that he could have caught being with you and your kennels, theres your trial. Whos to say he didnt do a hell of a job while you had him but he got licked a few times and has damage to him or catches kennel cough, rabies or some other crap.  After the check up, and the "buyer" has paid in full the vet bill, I then will give you back what you paid for the dog minus 25% for the hassle.  Sounds good to me....  Although I'd never sale my dogs.  Ive always said that if I ever had to get rid of them for any reason, they would go to my hunting partners or they wont go.

I'm not sure who the post about the pissing match between buyer and seller is too. I posted this because warning hunters not to trust their hard earned money on a one week trial. The guy will not answer his phone or text to return the dog. There has been a number of dogs stolen and sold. Someone is making a living selling sorry and stolen dogs with one week trials that will never let you get ur money back. Can't tell if a friend of a thief is selling the dog but if I see tatoos with dogs in them I will see a red flag.

I agree you are only gettin half the story, but the reason your getting only half is because this guy can't defend his self. He is prolly reading these post callin all of us a buncha chumps. I might agree with you on the half story part if I was the only one talking about it. And to answer the ? the only thing I did was explain the deal how it happened, along with posting the personal information that this guy gave me. Of course I was upset about the bad deal although I never got out of line with my comments. I was only trying to save the next man from a bad deal, which clearly I was not allowed to do because my post only lasted about 30 mins before I was banned. Believe what you will, that is until he sells you that jam up strike dog that's scared of its shadow.

Why cant he defend himself, banned too? I dont blaim u for wanting to warn people n he wont be sellin me a dog, jam up or a lump of turds. I aint got the money for a finished n if i did it would only b from those i KNOW personally. Dun been burt once, aint happenin again. The adage of "foll me once shame on u, fool me twice, shame on me" is tattooed in my head now n iv become a t-total a-hole bout it n wont go outa my to help most folks either bc of the knife in the back routine. Trust is now earned, not just a hand out

I believe some of this is being taken the wrong way, by no means am I lookin for a pissin match with anyone. I was just under the assumption that if I was able to help a fellow hunter out then I'm inclined to do so. I fully understand the rules of this site and also understand that sometimes deals aren't what they seem. I'm no veteran of the game by any means, but I am a man of my word and by no means are any of my past post or post to come meant to upset anybody. But if someone is doing bad business then I think it should he brought to light whether its on this forum or any other one.

Agreed
it should b allowed, but like chris said and i accept it but dont agree with it,  its the rules, if the rules are not like, dont log on. It just seems that by not allowing a crooked dealer "dogs, equipment, vehicles or anything other services" to be posted and brought into the light, AS LONG AS IT REMAINS CIVIL AND POLITE, that its condoning the principles of theft n dishonesty. Even though its NOT those intentions of condonement on this forum, it could be construded that way if a new person didnt know.

Go check out any other hog dogging website, and find me a thread where someone calls out a dog deal gone bad, and show me that the thread can remain civil.... It doesn't happen. I've been a moderator or admin on enough sites that I know how they turn out.

Texashog26,
I don't know you, and while I think your intentions are probably in the right place.  We have a policy at ETHD, we have also posted advice about buying dogs... Watch the dog hunt before you hand over your money!  It seems that you don't want to heed our advice, and you don't care for our policies... Is it any surprise that you were previously banned?

You want to let everyone know what happened, here's a way that we are ok with.

Post up that you had a dog deal gone bad, and that if anyone is interested in the details of the transaction, they can PM, email or call you and you can fill them in.  DO NOT go calling someone out and causing me or the other mods to spend hours babysitting a post, because you didn't do your homework on a dog purchase, and a crook was able to get one over on you.

The rest of us that buy dogs the smart way will continue to check references on the seller, the dog, and/or watch the dog hunt.

All of this is fully understood, reason being I've no longer posted about any deal good or bad. And just so everybody knows I was not the one getting the short end of the stick it was my partner. Yes I posted the comment that got me banned, and excepted responsibility for it, hence I was banned. You are correct about what  my intentions were and yes I understand the advice given from you and everyone else. As I said I'm not lookin for a pissin match, I only posted on this thread because the ? was asked if anyone knew of this outstanding fellow.somewhere from north Texas and I replied.  I also agree with the fact that a bad deal will not stay civil and that's why I stated I don't post about a good deal or a bad one.

Funny you mention not posting about a good deal or a bad deal... It reminds me of a VERY short trial we did here at ETHD several years ago.   It was a "feedback" thread, similar to an ebay style member feedback.  One of the very first positive feedbacks was posted up by a friend of a known dog peddler.  Right away we figured out that the feedback system was flawed as well.

that's about the time we took the position that we don't want to hear about the dog deals, because it's a rare occasion that a dog in the flesh lives up to a dog in text.

@Justincorbell- not riled up, no apology necessary. The comment was only a statement..we all at one time or another have been angry. This is not one of those times for me. I guess some of this got turned around alittle. I was never really mad at anyone with the exception of my buddy for completing the deal. I guess what it comes down to is simply the principal. Why ruin a reputation that will follow you forever and everywhere with one bad deal. 2 worst kinds of people in the world in my opinion, a liar and a thief more so the thief because he will lie about stealing.
