I'm still stuck on a 6 month old pup a guy got for free and then had it for sale 3 days later asking $100 for it... drives me nuts.

I got the idea from the dog trade where some folks raise the price on a dog because of expenses... if it worked that way I would buy new cars every year and rent them out and then raise the price on them when I sold them as used cars, and I would be sure to include all the added expense of maintenance and gas consumption on top of the new price of the car... Really??? They do that? I gave this lightly started dog away only for it to be sold 8-10 months later as finished then sold again for $2500. Is this the same people? Hahaha these people try to sell dogs on Fb all the time I would never buy a dog from them. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2

I owned the dog in that post at one point, and felt obligated to out them. No need to because like you said, they sale more in a month than I have owned in my life. I just wish people were smarter buyers.

I see jam up just like Cracker Jack but different time. I remember as a kid my dad and uncle talkin dogs and referring to certain dogs as cracker jacks. Most dogs were just dang good, good, or crap eaters. Pups were just pups and judged as such.

What gets me is why people would believe these guys are selling their "best" and "jam up" dogs. I am fortunate to have one dog that in my opinion is a great dog. He needs no help and can get it done day or not. I have caught more hogs than I can count with him and I ENJOY doing it. So why would I sell him? Answser is that I wouldn't! I had a guy (who makes REALLY good money) offer me $7,000 a year and half ago. I didn't even consider it. Hog hunting brings me much more satisfaction than some money that would eventually be spent on junk anyways. I know there are some people who are lucky and have several locating dogs and they may end up and sell one, but I just don't see how these guys on here expect people to believe there selling there "BEST" dog. I'd say 75% of people who have a good one intend on holding onto them as long as possible.

Lots of reasons Matthew. Needing Money could be 1, trying to get his line recognized is another. Just getting out of the sport maybe.
Granted...it doesn't happen that often but if I were needing (and willing to pay for) a really good strike dog...I'd at least check the adds out. Do your homework before hand and you'll be fine. Me personally, I'd hate to miss a good deal just because I was too skeptical to even call.

I didn't mean that there aren't any sincere people selling truly finished dogs, but I meant there is no way that all of these dogs that are "finished" are legit because it is not very often that someone will sell a dog like that, although to your point, there are circumstances in which some will or may have too. But when you start seeing 5 or 6 finished dogs for sale every day or see a certain person post 5 for sale in a 6 month period, something just isn't right. JMO.
