You do that to your hunting dog and they still have the same drive?

I have a RCD that is cut and it don't affect his prey drive at all. He just loves to bite pigs.

I would let them fully mature physically before doing it. I think if you cut a male too young he's not going to develop like he would had he not been cut. Let them get filled out to their potential first.

If you have any dominate males it may cause a slight problem as they might try to mount the cut male and not hunt the same when they are together just what has happend to me but doesn't change the cut dog just the ones around it my buddy's best dog is cut and he is good one

This is one I wish I would have waited to cut. I think he would of ended up thicker in the chest and maybe stouter all around. He's still turned out a nice dog. And it did not mess up his drive. This dude has more prey drive than anything I've seen.

Stokley has one and he is a freakin bruiser lol, he is cut but it doesn't slow him down at all from what I have seen and heard. I do agree tho that I would wait until he is fully developed before doing it though

It ain't gonna hurt the dogs desire to catch unless the only reason he catches a hog is to hump them.  Wink
