Blake said he had the hogs lined out, knew where they were hanging out so we set up a hunt. Met at the Truck stop at 2:30 this morning, well....2:45....I was a little late. Anyhow....We made the drive an hour south. On the way, he told me he'd be surprised if the dogs didn't strike within 200 yards of the drop. He was dang close.

The Milo is not quite red yet but the hogs are already feeding on it. We drop on a corner, Blake's Tater, Buck and a Walker gyp pup, I drop Jasper and Bella who's fresh off her pups and in need of some exercise. The dogs immediately started hunting and next thing you know Buck opens up at about 260, out in the Milo. He bays and goes quiet, bays and goes quiet. The other dogs are trying to get to him...boy it's tough in those fields. They move this pig back towards us and end up caught about 40 yards in. A little sow about 60lbs. Hobbled her.

Tater rolls out and within about 10 minutes we here him open up but it's short lived. Pig breaks and GOES! Buck and Jasper are trying to catch up with Tater so we jump in the truck. This catches Jasper's attention and he heads to us so we pick him up and move on.
We get within about 250 I guess and shut it down. We hear the bay and Jasper bails out and we throw out Bella and Walker pup as well. They head to bay and next thing you know everyone's barking...we think its a good one but ends up being another sow about 60-70lbs. She was just backed up and fighting.....but not enough to keep the bulldogs off. We were way in so we stuck her. That was 2 down in about an hour i guess. We tried to gather the dogs back up but only succeeded in catching the Walker pup, Jasper and Bella. Tater was off again.
Well...he and Buck were on a line and we were trying to find a way to them. I guess within about 20 minutes they showed treed and after some driving we finally found a way in and went to them. As soon as we shut the truck off Jasper bailed and again we turn out Bella and Walker pup. They all get there quick and go to hammering. Along with them...a coyote is baying from about 20 yards out, lol. Ok...maybe this one is a good one. We unsnap from 40 yards....right before the bulldogs get there the pig breaks and he is GONE! Tater, Buck, and Jasper are all in hot pursuit. We gather the bulldogs, walker pup and Bella back up (man she's outa shape) and load up. Check the Garmin and they are at 850 and moving out.
We drive out and look for another spot to get close but they just keep moving and moving.....and moving. Finally they show treed at about .86 from where we were. Now...we had moved a good bit...I reckon all totaled...that pig took them about a mile and a half or better before they finally settled. We drove around looking for a way in and finally decides to go back to the original spot. We were able to pick our way through the mesquite pastures and finally got within about 200 yards. Dumped the Walker gyp and Bella and grabbed the bulldogs.

Again we had a full bay going and it sounded like it had broke when we got within about 50 yards but one of the dogs opened back up so we unsnapped. When the CD's hit it sounded really big...lots of brush busting and huffing so we headed in bout half way there and the pig started squealing. Ended up being a little Boar about 140lbs. He just sounded big and mean, lol.

3 pigs in 3 hours, not bad. Was a fun hunt.

Jmo but the worst thing you could have done is pick that dog up and carried him to the other dog. I'd have tore his a$$ up and sent him back hunting or I'd have snapped in the truck and not let him out the rest of the hunt.

I guess I should have said good hunt or something like that so every one didnt think I was just busting his balls but i've had a lot of dogs that I've screwed up by picking them up every time they come out to a truck buggy or four wheeler. They don't know they did wrong if you don't correct it.
