Catching lots of hogs this year.  Haven't posted much been busy hunting.

On a bad note, I lost Sam on April 27th.  He was hands down the most solid, consistent hog dog I've ever owned or hunted behind.  I can't take the credit for it as he was a natural. Bred right by crossing two great dogs. He was a late bloomer at about 2 years old, which is typical for a straight hound, but never looked back after that.

This is one of my favorite pics of him.  This was taken in Snyder I liked how the flash caught his face.

Caught on ear of good boar he struck.

A nice one eared barr he trailed in Albany when none of the other dogs could pick up the track.  That was the advantage to owning him.  You could drop him on a tank at 1pm and he'd take you to their beds.

Made a hunt with Andy, lrhlrh89 and RockingW.  Caught 12 that day.  Few pics.

Good boar we tied in Palo Pinto, but he stressed out on us.

Andy, Jason, the kids and I caught a good boar in the wheat.  Tracker rolled out and bayed again at 800.  Caught both of them within 20 minutes of each other.

Thought this was a funny pic......

This little sow had been sneaking around my buddies lake.  We snuck in the heat of the day and caught her napping.

RIP Sam. The one time I hunted behind him I was impressed. I have been thinking about finding a hound some day  because of him. Sorry Buddy.
   Good hogs !!

1 of the best dogs I ever owned was a walker named amos, i miss that ol dog...ol boy that I used to hunt with bought him for coon hunting and he literally never left his kennel over a 6mth period so one day I started inquiring about him, this fella's dad started tellin me to take him hunting when I went---so I did, he turned into a hog hunting sob and one day when I went to pick him up his dad said not to bring him back....the kid that owned him wasnt to happy and threw a fit so I handed him 200$.....best 200$ I had ever spent as far as hunting goes back then....to this day something about a walker just brings a smile to my face, amos looked alot like sam, seeing his pics brings back some great memories..... Hate to hear about your loss.

Love the pics with all the youngins in there smilin ear to ear, thats what its all about! glad to see guys keeping the little ones in the woods! congrats on the hogs!

yep..I wouldn't bet against a good walker...I never owned one but I have seen some good ones...and I like that blockier looking head on a walker as compared to the longer headed droopy eared walkers...
