Im not sure how the taylor blood was originated but the dogs ive been around are hard dogs. I have some taylor pups on the ground now and fixing to breed another gyp as soon as she comes in. Both are taylor breed gyps (and come from pretty reliable sources) breed to a male of mine. Sure have high hopes with this cross.

Thats funny your reffering to yellar dog on 4 wheeler. We just got thru baying and catch a nasty boar and that paticular dog in pic got stuck in the jaw line and was finally able to stop the bleeding that day.The boar drew first blood and the fight was on and ended in a great hunt.

R.E. Taylor was from the thicket area of Texas and moved to Brazoria county. He brought some dogs with him that were good and soon had people wanting to buy some. He bred a few and knew where to go in the thicket to get the good ones and sell as Taylor dogs. I have seen some very good ones and most are pleasing to the eye.

There are still some Taylor dogs on the ground in Brazoria. They are hard long winded dogs.

Ginny was Ricky Drivers dog and was a littermate to Leroy the sire of Bens Henry. Ben borrowed her to raise some pups from. Ricky snuck in to a ranch in Huntville and bred Blondie to a dog named Big Boy. I never heard Ricky mention the name Taylor. He told some folks he was a T.D.C. owned dog and some he was a Taylor dog and was several years after the fact. At the time of the breeding we didn't know anything about this Taylor fellow. Big Boy could have been a Taylor dog, but I doubt it. He was just the best he could locate at the time.
