Well im not a genious but by reading what southtexasguy and liar was conversating about it's pretty obvious it was a dishonest seller! He can arrange for the dog to be picked up which possibly means meeting, or waiting around for someone to come to you which always takes longer then planned, but he can't use the same amount of time to simply show the dog, maybe u dont have the land to hunt? He offered to take u to his place, no ride nor gas money he offered to take u to his place which possibly meant he'd pick u up, and if u have no gas to hunt, how'd u have the gas to make it finished? If u have no land to show him? How'd you finished the dog? And this is my opinion and I'm entitled to my opinion therefore I will give it! It is not meaning to offend anyone although it may, it just simply is to express my side of things and what I see out of it.     The whole trial thing absolute joke I hear and see of more people being screwed on trials then I do buying dogs outright, IF U TRUST A MAN AT A TRIAL U MIGHT AS WELL TRUST HIM AT HIS WORD! I posted dogs for sale on here was my first post I showed the dogs to 3 different people they didn't work until finally they worked out for a guy I insistence showing my dogs just to try and keep my name good. And grammar and English majors of ethd if I misspelled any words I'm human!

I never got screwed, never said that I did. The two dogs that I bought off of here I am very pleased with them. The posters that had them listed, backed up their word and showed me what the dog could do with them behind the wheel. From a buyer side of things, if the so called knuckleheads would do the same we would all have a great dog exchange.

southtexasguy...i read your post...i know your happy with your dogs....if I WAS referencing you...I would have called you out by name.

Personally....If I EVER list a strike or find dog for sale or trade, I just wont use those words.....I ain't gonna kiss your a$$ to sell you a dog.....you either want it or you don't and just because you want it....don't mean your getting it.

This isnt really relevent to me but just to play Devils Advocate.....

So a "TRIAL" is no longer good enough on a dog advertised as strike, find, or finished!?!

If a man wants to buy your dog and you dont want to travel to HIS place, you've got to take him to one of YOUR spots to show him!?!

Evidently not, because all the people that get screwed have the dogs on trial... then the seller disappears.

Point is, if you can't see the dog hunt... don't buy it!

If you can't show the dog hunt hunt... go peddle your junk somewhere else!

It's pretty simple...

The bossman hath spoketh!!!

And while im sure no one cares about my opinion, I agree with what he said above....... I honestly can't think of 1 thread in the recent past where what went down wasn't pretty much word for word what Mr. Mike said above.........

guy buys dog on trial.....dog sucks....guys tries to get money back and seller disappears......guy gets upset and complains.....

It's sad that hunter will do this to each other but it happens and thats just a fact of life....... there ARE good dogs on this site for sale occasionally but you gotta look for em and do your homework!

Kevin that would be like me listing a truck for sale and telling you how great it runs and then you ask to come drive it and I say no I'm not kissing your ass you either want it or you don't.

No sir...it wouldn't....I have no problem with giving you a trial if you have money in hand. I may or may not take you out to one of my places....but I sure as hell ain't coming to you.

Difference is...I'm not a dog peddler...I go into detail and list a dog as what it is...period. I've listed 2 young dogs on the dog trade I believe and the initial post on each dog was detailed enough that you should know just by reading it whether you wanted the dog or not. These dogs were also cheap. I'm sorry...you AIN'T getting a trial and I ain't showing them.
IF I WERE to list a dog that I expected more than a few hundred dollars for it would be listed the same....in detail. It wouldnt be neccessary but I would probably give you the standard "bring it back in the same shape" trial. I MAY even take you out with me IF I like you but it's not an entitlement. You don't DESERVE it. The person that researched the bloodline and did the homework before he purchased the dog or raised up and trained up the dog did all the work and your just buying his blood sweat and tears.

Again....just know who your dealing with and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't have a problem givin a trial with money in my hand either! The problem is being a buyer and putting your money in the hand of a dishonest crook! And back to earlier if it was that he didnt like the guy inquiring about the dog simply let him no u don't like him or u will not sell him a dog! but instead he offered a trial? If I don't like someone I'm not gonna respond. Not let them take my dog on trial, that's just a method of scam on my opinion!

if i was going to sell a dog for over 500 dollars i would give trial or let them come hunt with me whichever one they wanted to do, if i was buying a bulldog i would want to see it catch a good hog in a pen atleast and walk it around a few more dogs to make sure it wasnt a fighter and a dog less than 500 id let you see it bay in a pen because thats about all your gonna get for a 500 dollar dog most of the time no since in everyone driving all over the country for a 500 dollar dog no how. but i had a good dog deal a while back i found out about a dog for sale for 2000 i didnt know the guy and he didnt know me but he dont live to far maybe 80 miles i went and met him and he said we can go hunting now or this weekend or you can take the dog to your place and hunt it i called the guy 6 days later and told him id keep the dog. but its easier to give someone money if someone you know knows them. but its no way id drive across the state and buy a high dollar dog at the gas station with trial or without, its just asking to get took. the only way id sell a dog is with cash i wouldnt take a check from someone way off either because they could cancel it before they even right it. what it boils down to buying a finished dog is a big gamble every hog hunter i know has been took on dogs and im sure someone somewhere tommorow will buy a dog at a gas station and be real dissapointed when they let it out of the box but its been preached on several years.
