A buddy and I made a run last night. I took Chad and Tiger and he brought a gyp and the catch dog. We dropped the dogs at about 10 and sat and waited. In about 20 minutes my Chad pup opens at about 900 yards. Just long enough to get the other dogs headed to him. The hog is on the move and Chad is still trying to line him back out so we sit and wait. His gyp goes east and Tiger is still heading south towards Chad. We end up losing signal with them at around .89 miles. So we sit and wait cause I am thinking since Chad’s just a pup and Tiger is not a strike dog in my eyes they will be back. I was wrong. About an hour passes so we head to the truck and try to drive around and pick up signal with no luck. Back in the buggy we go headed straight south. We finally get them back on the Garmin and they both show treed at .60 miles. We get within 500 yards and decide to walk because it looks too thick. It turned out to not be that bad so I head back 50 yards and grab the buggy. Meanwhile my buddy who was leading the catch dog got tangled up and dropped the lead and off goes the bulldog. I scoop him up in the buggy and we haul butt. Get there and caught this boar hog. We did get his gyp picked up later at a mile and a half to the east. Guess she was on her own pig.

My pup is starting to make a hand. Checked the Garmin once we got the hog dispatched and we were 1.78 miles from where we dropped him and two and half hours later..

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
